I've finally gotten a new kick pedal after years of using a Speed King from the 1950s. This pedal is very well-built and quiet.

Tried it at local GC, compared it to the G-Class, which I was leaning towards. The G-Class is a terrific pedal, but, to my relatively pedal-deaf foot, didn't feel any different than a Demon Drive or a DW 9000 or whatever (they had a pile of pedals). But THIS one did stand out. It seems simpler and more connected to my foot than the others; like a Speed King that had ball bearings everywhere. I felt like I was striking the bass drum better with this pedal, and being around $70.00 didn't hurt, though it wasn't a factor, either. Pleasantly surprised! My sole gripe is that, like their flat-base hihat stand, of which I am also a proud owner, the footboard seems smallish to my 10D foot. Wish it were closer to a Speed-King or Eliminator in size. I added a Gibraltar toe stop and some 3M self-adhesive stair tread to the the thing and it now feels about Half Way To Perfection, compared to stock. Very highly recommend for the direct-drive aficionado!
