LR Baggs

collapse expand iconDescription

The LR Baggs Venue DI combines a direct box, preamp, EQ, tuner, and volume boost in a compact yet robust unit designed for performing acoustic guitarists. This all-in-one system provides adjustable gain for both passive and active pickups so you can achieve pristine tone for any acoustic instrument. The onboard tuner features a footswitch mute/tune function for discreet onstage tuning. A 5-band EQ includes tunable low-mid and high-mid bands allowing precise tone shaping to suit any musical style or cut through a mix. A phase inversion switch helps eliminate feedback, while the adjustable volume boost footswitch provides an extra dose of volume when you need it.

Complete Isolation and Flexible Outputs

The Venue DI utilizes a full isolation audio transformer for a clean signal and ground loop hum rejection. It provides an XLR DI output to connect directly to the mixing board as well as a 1/4" output for an amplifier or monitor. The unit also includes series FX loops with separate send and return jacks for incorporating your favorite pedals.

Roadworthy and Intuitive

Housed in a rugged steel chassis, the Venue DI is built to withstand the rigors of the road. A 4-segment LED provides visual monitoring of gain level and battery life for confidence in any performance setting. Powered by a standard 9V battery or optional power supply, the Venue DI allows complete freedom of movement on any stage. An included carrying case provides safe transport and storage for this professional-grade tool designed to make any acoustic guitarist's life easier.

Premium Components for Premium Tone

LR Baggs hand-selected premium components to deliver the highest quality tone. The all-discrete signal path and audiophile-grade film capacitors provide transparent, musical sound. Precision-matched FETs and hi-graded semiconductors ensure low noise and minimal distortion for studio-quality performance.

This is a quality DI box/pedal and an upgrade from my basic LR Baggs DI box I had been using. It's easier to dial in a really nice tone on my acoustasonic guitar. I've always felt LR Baggs doesn't cut back on quality construction. This thing has a nice weight and a very solid build. I ultimately traded this back in for the Fishman Platinum Pro due to it having a built in compressor for the same price. That said, I like the look and feel of the Baggs better, but the Fishman is dialing a better tone for the price. The compressor was a significant upgrade.

Awesome!!!!!!I recently started playing again, and was unpleasantly surprised when I plugged in my acoustic direct into a PA. The sound was aweful, period. So I bought the L.R. Baggs and love it. It does a great job reproducing the natural sound of the guitar.

Great sounding, easy to dial in. Only thing bad is the tuner is slow to react.

  • Great pedal - perfect for what I needed

I recently purchased a 1995 Collings OM2H acoustic and had a LR Baggs Lyric installed. Playing live with my band I had a very tough time with volume, which with being close to maxed out was way too low to cut through. I purchased the Venue DI and it immediately made all the difference in volume, plugged in right out of the box without even touching the settings. Now I have way more control over the tone and volume is never an issue. The boost is great and I find the tuner to very accurate. I would definitely recommend for those who have traditional acoustic guitars that have pickups installed and that don't have any onboard EQ. Especially in live performance when sound and volume control is everything.
