Surprisingly intelligent pedal
The active sensors in this pedal are phenomenal. They permit all those frequencies you employ while you play, allowing for resonance, harmonics, etc. while still limiting background noise. At first I was reluctant to buy into the theory that this pedal would help, but for recording and live play it makes an enormous difference. It preserves my overdrive even on the bass without dulling clarity, tone or presence but drastically limits the background fuzz and hum. The adjustable sensitivity allows you to selectively use it to permit or inhibit the sounds you would otherwise desire/expect from your other effects. The guitarist in my band, once he heard how effective it was in recording, immediately decided to go get one for himself. Believe!!

Great to have on your pedal board especially if your running multiple effects that introduce some unwanted noise to the signal chain

I was getting single coil noise when playing at a certain venue with my bass guitar. A fellow musician let me barrow his Behringer NR300. That worked so I went to order one but it was backordered on MF. I decided to try the MXR M-135. The reason I chose the MXR M-135 instead of Boss NS-2 was because of the one knob design. And so the The M-135 worked even better than the NR300 but was simpler to use. I am happy with my decision.

I purchased this pedal not long after acquiring an EVH 5150iii 2x12 combo. The amp itself wasn't too noisy, although I've heard others complain so, but after adding my usual set of pedals (wah + phaser in front, and chorus + delay in effects loop), the noise became a bit distracting. This pedal cleaned up the sound very nicely with no discernible impact on the tone. However, at extremely low volumes, I found it can sometimes dampen the overall level a bit... that said, who wants to play at low volume? :) Seriously, at lower volumes, I don't find it even necessary to use.

I just installed the EMG Jim Root pickups, and my bridge pickup has MAJOR feedback, I sent the first one back to EMG, received a new one and the problem is still there, I'm looking for a noise gate that will knock out the feedback issue I have! I'm already running a Rowin Noise Gate in the loop and a Boss Noise Suppressor into the front and it's not helping one bit, none of my other guitars have this issue, there all quiet as can be!!!
Feedback and noise are very different. One occurs at the input, the other at the output. A gate isn't going to help. There is some sort of gain structure increasing your overall level. Guitar feedback is no different than microphone feedback. It's either a volume or phase issue. Please give us a call to better help you out – 877-687-5403
