NEW Mackie ProFXv3+ Analog Mixer with Enhanced FX and USB Recording Modes | Overview and Demo

Meet the new Mackie ProFXv3 PLUS Series

What's New At Mackie?

Description
Mackie humbly began with a small PA mixer before burgeoning into a highly regarded designer and manufacturer of comprehensive, reliable pro audio equipment for recording, live sound and content creation. The ProFX12v3+ is an ultramodern 12-channel analog mixer including a USB-C interface for computer integration, award-winning Onyx preamps, onboard EQ and compression, and a collection of digital GigFX+ processors for creative enhancement. Suited for multiple applications, the Mackie ProFX12v3+ mixer is ideal for recording, performance, livestreaming and podcasting—features like loopback make it easy to stream video games or play over backing tracks, and Bluetooth conveniently connects mobile devices or laptops for calls, sound effect drops, music playback and more. The ProFX12v3+ analog mixer by Mackie is an all-inclusive means of amplifying, processing and routing audio for a variety of purposes.

Professional Mixing on Your Desktop
Capture, mix and record sources across 12 channels with the Mackie ProFX12v3+, using a septet of Onyx microphone preamps laid out over four mono and three stereo channels. Take advantage of multiple mono and stereo line inputs for various sources, as well as a dedicated Bluetooth channel. Onyx preamps deliver up to 60dB of clean gain for noiseless performance that’s able to drive popular dynamic mics with ease, and a 100Hz high-pass filter cuts rumble and minimizes plosives at the touch of a button. Channels one through four additionally offer single-knob analog compression, and all channels sport 3-band equalization, while a powerful and upgraded GigFX+ engine provides 12 editable effects accompanied by a color LCD screen. The Mackie ProFX12v3+ combines the warmth of analog with the precision of digital in a user-friendly package.

Three USB Recording Modes
The ProFX12v3+ has an integrated 24-bit/192kHz USB-C interface, providing a hardware link between your analog audio equipment and your digital recording or streaming setup. Three record modes start with Standard, which captures a complete image of your main mix, including equalization and effects; Loopback includes computer audio for streaming or performing over backing tracks; and Interface sends the dry signals straight from the Mackie mixer to your DAW for pristine recordings to be edited and processed in post. Whether you’re a songwriter, desktop streamer, podcaster or other content creator, the Mackie ProFX12v3+ offers versatile functionality for boundless creativity.

Bi-directional Bluetooth With Mix Minus
Easily send and receive audio from smartphones, tablets and laptops over Mackie ProFX12v3+ Bluetooth connectivity. For podcasters, this functionality makes it simple to introduce call-in guests, as well as incorporate on-the-fly music beds and sound effects. Plus, the Mix Minus feature prevents callers from hearing an echo of themselves, so adding a remote guest or co-host is a smooth and professional process. For musicians and streamers, going wireless is the most convenient way to integrate backing tracks or other music from a connected device. On its own stereo channel, complete with volume and EQ, the Mackie ProFX12v3+ Bluetooth input is always balanced against the rest of the mix.

Legendary Mackie "Built-Like-a-Tank" Design
The ProFX12v3+ mixer embodies the legendary Mackie "Built-Like-a-Tank" philosophy, rocking a solid steel chassis with durable ABS plastic sides. Renowned for their impossibly tough designs, Mackie products are made to reliably withstand years of use, as proven by long-running lines of mixers for both stage and studio. The ProFX12v3+, with its wide range of applications, may just be the sturdiest compact mixer you’ve ever owned, and it’s able to travel for on-location recordings or performances without special accommodations—it’ll survive the trip. Rest assured, the Mackie ProFX12v3+ is built to tolerate exhaustive use in a variety of scenarios.
The Mackie ProFX12v3+ is a versatile mixer and recording device, delivering the sonic presence of analog with the convenience and clarity of digital. Understanding the diverse audio needs of creators outside music production, the ProFX12v3+ is every bit a modernized mixer allowing streamers, podcasters and performers to intuitively level up their sound, introducing a new dimension to their content. The Mackie ProFX12v3+ showcases thorough design expertise and outstanding fidelity that doesn’t break the bank.

Just What I Needed (Except More)

Our acoustic trio needed an upgrade to our sound system from the old-school "big" speakers and clunky PA head. One of our members bought a Bose S1 Pro+ powered speaker, so I bought this mixer. It's very plug-and-play - we got excellent results right away, but I do recommend diving into the manual to take advantage of the many features that aren't obvious. Compressors are very user-friendly, EQ section is very powerful, effects sound good (although, sounded best after some parameter tweaking). Plenty of options for inputs and outputs and signal routings. One of the key features that led to my purchase was the USB-C in/out, and the 24-bit/192kHz fidelity. A lot of other great mixers in this price range don't yet have that feature. I've yet to use it, but based on the performance of all other features, I'm confident that it will be just as effective. It's built very solidly, but there are a lot of small knobs and sliders, so I bought a gig bag for it, too. So far, highly recommended.
Easy to use, helps me stay ready to record

IS THIS GOOD FOR KARAOKE DJ GIGS? & DOES IT GIVE GOOD SOUND AND EFFECTS?
The Mackie ProFX12v3+ is very good for karaoke DJ gigs, and yes, it gives good sound and effects, especially for the price and simplicity. Here's a detailed breakdown: Enough channels: 12 channels (with mic preamps) are plenty for multiple singers, a music player, maybe even a small instrument. Good mic preamps: Mackie's Onyx mic preamps sound clean and have decent headroom — important for loud karaoke vocals. Built-in effects: Reverb, delay, and other basic effects are built-in. They are easy to dial in and sound perfectly fine for karaoke (you don't need studio-quality effects for live karaoke). Bluetooth streaming: Great for connecting phones/tablets to play background tracks or songs wirelessly — a major plus at karaoke gigs. USB recording/playback: You can record performances or play music off a laptop. Sound Quality: Solid live sound: Vocals will come through clearly, and you can tweak EQ easily. Effects: Reverbs and delays are good — not super lush like on high-end studio gear, but absolutely good enough for making karaoke vocals sound rich and full. EQ control: 3-band EQ on channels gives you enough shaping to tame harsh voices or pump up low-end if needed. Potential Limitations: Only one effects send: You can't put different effects on different mics (everyone shares the same reverb setting). No "auto-tune": If you want pitch correction (some karaoke DJs use it), you'd need an external unit. Not wireless mics: You'll still need to plug mics in separately — the mixer has Bluetooth for playback, not for mics.submitted5 months ago
