The Native Instruments Maschine Mikro MK3 is a compact yet powerful music production instrument that integrates powerful software with tactile, responsive hardware. With four ways to input sound using 16 highly responsive velocity-sensitive pads in Pad, Keyboard, Chord or Step mode, the Mikro MK3 lets producers tap out beats and melodies and quickly build up loops and track ideas. The Mikro MK3 comes with the full Maschnie software, including 25 studio and creative effects like filters, EQs, delays, reverbs and compressors, giving you complete control over your tracks. The classic groovebox features—like 16 pad velocity levels, swing, pad link, note repeat and step sequencer—provide an authentic beatmaking experience. The Mikro MK3's seamless integration of software and hardware gives you a production ecosystem that rivals other pad controllers. Use it on its own or as a VST, AU or AAX plug-in in major DAWs like Ableton Live, Pro Tools, Logic Pro and FL Studio.

Pads and Smart Strip for Intuitive Control

The Mikro MK3's 16 large, ultraresponsive pads make finger drumming and playing a pleasure. The dual-touch Smart Strip lets you slide fingers to strum instruments, manipulate sounds and navigate the software. An OLED display and push encoder simplify browsing, volume/pan control and parameter changes.

Vintage Sampling With Modern Power

The Mikro MK3 has the same powerful sampler, arranger and mixer as the Maschine MK3, Maschine Studio and Maschine Jam. Sample and sequence like a classic MPC, then take advantage of the modern sound library, slicing, sampling, tagging and browser.

Compact Design, Endless Creativity

Despite its compact, lightweight design, the Mikro MK3 nurtures endless creativity. Its immediacy and simplicity free you to focus on the music.

This product is actually okay for what it is.

I have to say that I am pretty impressed with this little device. I was actually on the fence about buying it mainly because I primarily use Reason software to make a lot of my music and this device will not control Reason or any third party program. It does not have Midi capability like other users have described. I did look at a lot of videos from users making beats and producing music and it looked to be very fun so I decided to try it out. Even though I can't use Reason with it, I gotta say I really like the Maschine software that it comes with. It is definitely high quality as well. All the keys and buttons and the general build are very very good compared to other midi controllers in the same price range. The Maschine software has a ton of sounds and it is very intuitive. I gotta say that I actually prefer to work on that over Reason for certain things like making a beat because it is much more powerful and I can make something that sounds really good pretty darn fast. NI has stated that they will add Midi capabilities soon so I am expecting to be able to utilize it with Reason when that happens. Overall, I think that if you are looking for just a midi controller and already have a preferred DAW, then this might not be for you. However, if you aren't intimidated about learning to use a new program that might potentially add to your production workflow, then I would highly recommend this to you. My son who is 4 1/2 is already able to produce some pretty good sounding beats and can't really keep his hands off this. I actually have to fight him for it and I think that is worth a lot if he will potentially get into music production like his dad.

Not a MIDI Controller!

I bought the Maschine Mikro MK3 for my small office studio to use with Reason 10.2. While trying to integrate it with Reason, I ran into problems, and subsequently came to find out that the Mikro MK3 does not have the ability to work as a MIDI controller for 3rd party DAWs. This is confirmed by NI support forums. I specifically bought it to use with Reason, so now I have to bring it back. Who would make anything these days w/o full MIDI capabilities? How about SOME MIDI capabilities? All other versions of Maschine, even the previous Mikro MK2, provide this ability. So if you're looking for a unit to work as a MIDI controller, don't buy this. It only works with the Maschine software, which is limited, and the library sounds are the same old sounds NI have been using for years. NI says they're working on an update "in the near future", but we all know what that means....

Just purchased an arturia essentials keylab 61 to get started producing songs for edm. Wanted to also a drum machine too so i got the arturia drumbrute impact. Great drum machine that easy amd intuitive to use but does not integrate well with the free arturia DAW, Ableton Live Lite. Sorry for all this backstory but cuz it didnt integrate well without an audio interface i returned it and got the NI Mikro MK3. Much better connectivity for the Ableton DAW but I can also work with the Maschine DAW even easier. Plus it was very easy to bring my my Arturia keylab and m controls the Maschine sounds easily. The kits for the Maschine Mikro allow you to find not just drumkits but nice accompanied basses, sounds and sound effects together. Just makes your workflow so much faster. Anyway, all this equipment is awesome but the Mikro is an amazing drum maschine, groovebox and controller!

The product is very well made, software need more options and focus on Daw, centered tutorials. Where any Daw, meets the MK3 in connection, setup and work flow.

  • Native Instruments really cares about it's customers.

I bought one of these about 6 months ago and fell in love with it until I realized that NI's proprietary "controller editor" did not offer support for the Mikro MK3. I was livid. I bought the thing the interface with ez drummer and without being able to edit the midi notes on the controller itself I was lost. I ended up returning the thing and went on a rant on NI forums for several months about them adding that functionality until I eventually gave up. Well just the other day they finally added support on the controller editor software!! I had spent several hundreds of dollars trying other controllers bu this point but ran out to GC immediately and bought it again. Best pads on the market AAF this price range. The only pads that are better period are on the Mk3. Machine is great and I'm having fun with exploring that universe. Thank you to NI for listening to its customers about that controller editor support thing. It means a lot to know that a company is listening to the people that spend their money on them. Buy It!!
