  • Not For Clean Tone

Way overpriced. Hot bridge pick up! Screams! Artificial harmonics become effortless and never miss and can be manipulated throughout bends and vibrato. Howling thrashing tone with no compromise to clarity. Forget nice clean sound. Flat, lifeless, underwhelming. These are the words that come to mind when using either pickup for a clean tone. No 'twang' no personality whatsoever. The 9 string Hellraiser rings like bells with sweet clean natural tone on any pick up setting. The Apocalypse FRS 7 sounds pretty good with the sustainiac set to single coil mode for clean. This banshee is not for blues, nor jazz. That's for sure. Must be they are different EMGs completely than the Hellraiser EMG, sure. But, more likely the fact of the matter is when we gut half a guitar to add a Floyd rose floating tremelo bridge, one cannot expect the same sustain as a string through body type. It simply won't resonate through the wood of the guitar body the same and after 30 plus years I'm possibly considering giving up on floating bridges . However, the Apocalypse sounded good even unplugged with its Floyd system. This guitar does not :/ It's for heavy metal. But that's it.

This guitar played great and I loved the look of it. The first one was scratch and dent, but I noticed that the fretboard was cracking all the way up the neck. I had a brand new one ordered and it had the same issue further up the neck and the tone and volume knobs were rusted and didn't work correctly. The store contacted another store for a new guitar and it also had the same issue with the fretboard cracking.

I played this while I was messing around my local GC one day. I put it back ONLY because I had to leave and because I knew I'd get in trouble with "the boss" if I brought home another guitar. But I've been eyeing this thing ever since, and to quote Wayne, "It will be mine. Oh yes, it will be mine". I play mainly Les Pauls, so to even pick up a start style guitar is a bit of a departure for me. But this thing didn't disappoint — looks good, sounds good, feels good — it was just so easy to play.

I've been playing guitar for 16 years and finally found my forever guitar. I've only been playing Schecter for the last few years and it's the only brand I use now. I have the blue gt and straight out of the box it played almost being right on tune. I played most the night because it was fun but also I was in a little disbelief that it was this good. The emg's are amazing through my orange amp. I mostly play metal. Old school thrash, Amon amarth, and Static X. I told my wife I'm going to get another because if I never had this anymore, I'd be seriously sad.

I seen this thing and being also a car guy, I had to have it. I honestly didn't expect much, but not sure why I didn't. I own 4 other Schecter guitars. Never had a bad one and they have always been good quality but I have also never had one that grabbed me as a go to guitar. You know one that says hey you're coming gigging with me tonight. This one does. I find myself playing this one a lot. However, it didn't start that way. When I got it the bridge wasn't level, it needed a set up and I prefer 9's for string anyway comes with 10s. This fought me every step of the way doing a set up. Then when I got done and plugged it in, I was underwhelmed. It just didn't sound good. Then again, I haven't played EMG's in a guitar in a very long time, maybe 10 years. I set it aside, went back to my regulars. This thing kept calling me. So finally I sat down and spent an hour with it, tweaking my amps and finally found the EQ settings that brought it to life. Basically it was like a premium race car, but was running on Regular fuel. I need to spend some time, give it some high octane. I haven't put it down now for at least 3 weeks and it is my go to guitar. It gets to see it first live gig this weekend. So far in practices it's doing everything I could want it to do It cuts through the mix. It is identifiable as me playing. Just sounds great. Every note is clear.

The charcoal burst was by far my favorite of the 4 colors. Awesome, solid playing guitar. The design, inlays in the fretboard, and the charcoal burst makes this close to the coolest guitars I've ever seen. Highly recommend!
