Featuring high-performance open-back ear cups, specialized polymer diaphragms and a lightweight yet durable design, the HD 400 PRO delivers a natural, transparent listening experience for meticulous sound editing and mixing.
Open-Back Ear Cups Provide an Authentic Soundstage
The open-back ear cups of the HD 400 PRO recreate the optimal listening environment of a high-end studio control room. Their open design provides an expansive, distortion-free soundstage so you can pinpoint the position of each element in your mix with laser-focused precision.
Specialized Components Deliver Unparalleled Clarity and Depth
At the heart of the HD 400 PRO are custom-developed 120-ohm transducers utilizing a proprietary polymer blend, which yields stunning clarity, warmth and bass depth. The powerful drive magnets and innovative damping system also minimize distortion for reference-grade accuracy at any volume.
Premium Comfort for Extended Listening
To ensure comfort during marathon mixing sessions, Sennheiser equipped the HD 400 PRO with plush velour earpads, an adjustable padded headband and lightweight yet durable components. The single-sided, detachable coiled cable also provides plenty of slack so you can move freely while editing or tracking.
Flexible Connectivity and Accessories
The HD 400 PRO includes a straight cable in addition to the coiled cable for compact applications. With a 6.3mm screw-on adapter, you can connect to any device with 1/4" or 1/8" outputs. I'm a musician and use these primarily for practice and rehearsal. They are very comfortable and with the open backs I can work with them on all day with little fatigue. I love my in-ears but they are tuned more for stage and can become uncomfortable after a bit - so these headphones really compliment my options well.

I bought this headphone for musical Zoom sessions in which I play my musical instrument along with the leader of the session. I wanted a comfortable headphone with accurate, natural sound, that is also open-backed so that I can hear my own instrument clearly. This headphone is wonderful for this use. I also want to respond to another reviewer who claimed this headphone is not loud enough. That is not true. This headphone can play very loudly. In the Instruction Manual, there is even a warning about "the high sound pressure levels attainable" with this headphone.
They're great but not loud enough.

For the price, I was amazed at how low the db output is with these headphones, they're awesome…fit and sound great, but I had my volume all the way and still looking for that extra boost. Returned and got the model just below these that sound better, louder, and $50 less… seriously don't know why they would design these like this.
Wow!

Musical instrument and digital audio workstation use. So high fildelity and noiseless that I had to take them off to ensure the sound was coming from the headphones and not directly from the instrument.
