if you don't use your tom mount and you can't live with the looks this is a good solution. i doubt it changes the sound or tone of your drum. in fact if you set up 3 identical drums and install this plate on one and turn your back an have someone play all 3 your not gonna be able to tell which one has the pretty plate. this applies to alot of pretty things in life. does a $1000 snare sound better than $300 snare?

I wanted to convert my bass drum so I would have a clean sounding uninhibited tone. This involved removing the tom mount on the bass drum. I was looking for something to cover up the hole left on it when I ran across this. It was the perfect way to cover the hole and still maintain the integrity of drum. I recommend this product for anyone looking to convert their bass drum.

I just ordered mine but haven't received it yet. Since the plate does NOT come with the screws to secure it to the bass drum, is there any info on what size screws I will need to make that happen?

Was this supposed to come with screws that fit the plate? Mine did not, and the original tom mount hardware screws do not fit these holes.
