I've been a user of Pearl drums and hardware for almost 5 years, and I have found that they not only make the best drums around, but they make the best designed and sturdiest of hardware. I bought these pipe clamps to put on the two remaining legs of my Icon rack. The others that came with the rack I just absolutely love. These clamps don't require much pressure to hold anything you put in them. It takes an allen wrench to simply attach them to the legs and a wing nut on the clamp tightens up whatever you put in the clamp. I have other clamps I've been using to hold cymbal stands, but using the leg just keeps more of the hardware out of sight and out of the way. In some cases the leg could be considered too high for the clamp and whatever you put into it, but if nothing else, you could cut the leg down in height to accommodate whatever it is you want. Just use a pipe cutter to get a clean straight cut and be sure to protect the chrome with tape before cutting. These clamps are sturdy, well designed, and become part of the leg, so there's less stuff in the way. I highly recommend these clamps, and I use every one of them on my rack.

I bought my Icon Rack 7 years ago and purchased 2 of the PCL 100 clamps at that time. Over many years of practice, recording sessions and gigging they have worked extremely well and I've had zero problems with them. I recently bought two additional clamps to add to the rack and was pleased to see while the price remained the same the clamps had been upgraded to include spring tension. great product. zero issues

It works fairly well for boom arms on a kit rack. They should have used a thumb screw instead on a lug screw as on the rack clamps. I sometimes use the rack for hand percussion and the tube mount is too high for my timbale. A PCX100 clamp costs about the same and is more versatile. If you don?t need the arm space go with an arm clamp.
