I was initially excited for this stand as it sits deeper than others (13.5 lowest depth) as I could use it for a deep 14" rack tom. Unfortunately, this stand is better suited for snares (duh) but I took a gamble. The rubber tips for the snare basket were much too bulky and made it more difficult to get the stand placed closer to my bass drum. I suppose I could replace those with a smaller tips, but overall the depth of the stand was not deep enough for my liking. Another drawback is the basket mounts to the side and not in the middle, making it awkward for placement. I returned the stand and I ended up sticking with my trusty student snare stand - which remarkably sits the lowest of any stand I have seen. I gave this stand a rating of only three stars because I do think it is good quality, durable and fairly easy to use - I have owned Pearl hardware and drums (still do) and think they make great products - but there were some design flaws in my mind that didn't work for my setup. Cheers.

I always use Pearl hardware because it is dependable and strong. This stand is just what I needed for my 7x13 snare drum and I would purchase it again.

This is advertised as being suited for deeper snares. Is it still just fine for more standard size snare drums?
