X3 Sound Sampler

Description
The Peavey Vypyr X3 is a pioneering 100-watt, 1x12" combo amp that puts a myriad of tones and effects at your fingertips. Powered by Peavey's acclaimed TransTube technology, it delivers shockingly realistic tube amp sound and feel while dedicating its processing power to running up to five effects simultaneously. With 36 amp models and 26 effects to choose from, the possibilities are endless.
Stream Wirelessly and Control Remotely
The Vypyr X3 features Bluetooth connectivity, allowing you to stream audio from your mobile device directly into the amp. You can also control all of the Vypyr X3's settings from Peavey's VYPYR remote control app for iOS. Change presets, adjust effects parameters and save your favorite tones without leaving your performance position.
Model Any Instrument and Find Your Signature Sound
Not just for electric guitar, the Vypyr X3 lets you model the sound of acoustic guitar, bass and over 10 other instruments. Combining modeled amps and effects with different instrument models unlocks a vast tonal palette to craft your signature sound. The Vypyr X3 is also loaded with over 400 presets to get you started and provide inspiration.
Perform and Practice With Versatility
Whether at home, on stage, or in the studio, the Vypyr X3 serves all of your needs. The 12" custom-voiced speaker and ported cabinet provide full, rich tone for performance and practice. A headphone output allows for silent practice, while an AUX input lets you jam along to your favorite songs. USB connectivity turns the Vypyr X3 into an audio interface for recording straight into your DAW.
Intuitive Interface and Onboard Control
The Vypyr X3 features an intuitive interface with LED rings around each knob indicating its position relative to the current preset. All parameters can be adjusted directly from the amp without requiring external software. An optional footswitch (sold separately) provides additional control over looper, tap tempo and more.

I use this for practice and home recording. Easy to use with the VYPYR app. I had one of the first Gen Vypyrs and had to give the new one a try! I can plug in my acoustic guitar, my electric guitar or my bass and practice for hours without annoying my neighbors by using my headphones.
Had to Return Vypyr X3 within a day.

Purchased this amp with high hopes and the Celestion speaker attached died within the hour. Luckily Guitar Center took it back, but this is terrible reliability from Peavey. I will not be purchasing again, unreliable junk. No, I did not abuse the Amp.
Love this Amp!

in my opinion the previous vyper was the first supper affordable digital gear to get the sound of a tube amp. the vyperX sounds even better. I just finished a back to back comparison of the two and I prefer the vyperX both in headphones and threw the speaker. its warmer, sounds more 3D from the speaker, and it is louder from the speaker, though the same volume in headphones. They polished things up nicely with the vyperX.

Can I run my bass through this?
Yes, you can run your bass through the Peavey Vypyr X3 100W 1x12 combo amp, but with a few important caveats: The Vypyr X3 is designed as a modeling amp and includes models for bass, acoustic, and electric guitar, so it does have bass amp voicings. It has a robust 12" speaker and 100 watts of power, which is decent for low frequencies at moderate volumes. Good for practice, home recording, or low-volume rehearsals. he 1x12" speaker isn’t ideal for bass frequencies—it may distort or break up at high volumes or with extended low-end use. Over time, high-volume bass use could wear out the speaker or damage it, since it’s not built for deep bass excursions. Not suitable for live bass use at gig volume unless you’re being very cautious.submitted9 months ago

Is this a good amp for bass players?
No. It will "work" but it's a guitar amp. It will not reproduce lows very well. If you boost the low end too much, you risk speaker damage.submitted3 years ago
