Dirty little box
Pignose. Small. Portable. AC/DC. Storage. Durable. Metal handle. Quaint. Dirty little box! I bought this for one simple reason--I miss my old one I had in the '80s and '90s. I sold it for a song, and regretted it ever since, but I thought its use had no more place for me. I WAS MISTAKEN! Nothing will make a Telecaster sound more like Muddy Waters, Ry Cooder, etc., than this tiny and silly little solid state box. I use it as a standalone, and as a pre-amp, and this one I wouldn't give up for anything. It can provide very clean and quiet tone, or deliver massive slide dirt with the turn of the Pignose. Big sound. Little amp. Run through my Class A half-stack, I can raise the overall volume and tonal qualities of the Pignose Legendary about ten fold, which is enough to drive my Tele and other single coil guitars to the edge of Blues bliss. By itself, it's able to project tons of sound. Plus, I can carry it alone with a guitar, and maybe a wah pedal and/or Pod for effects, and I can play anywhere. Need more volume? Just mic it up or pre-amp out. I gave it five stars because of what it is. Pignose. Small. Portable. AC/DC. Storage. Durable. Metal handle. Quaint. Dirty little box! No other amp can do this at this price point, let alone a SS amp!

As Long As You Know What You're Getting
I bought this based on the glowing reviews. It definitely has a unique sound and is easy to use. However I only found a useful and pleasant sound if I rolled the volume down 50% on my guitar. I have to say it is a very fun and pleasant tone. On the downside there is a significant hiss/fizz. I just couldn't get over this. The quality was OK but not great. For example the jack plate on the back was glued on crooked and was all scratched up. Overall if you're looking for that one unique sound and can deal with the noisy output this has a place. It is, in my opinion, a one trick pony. I returned it for something different/less noisy.
