Great cans at a great price.

I think the sound quality on these is pretty good for the price range. They are very light so no fatigue after long sessions. If you are looking for isolation these are not for you. I use them recording singers and lower volume instruments so they can hear themselves bleed into the headphone mix too. If you want more isolation and a little better quality step up to the $99 range and grab some Sennheiser HD280. Overall these are excellent for the money. Cheap enough to grab 3 or 4 pair to equip the studio yet good enough to actually use in studio.

cable splitting and head band cracking after a year

Sounds OK but after about a year the rubber on the cable started splitting and falling off and the headband has cracks all over it

  • These headphones + budget speakers = better mix

I use these headphones when mixing. They have a better low frequency range than the M-Audio AV42 monitors that I use which helps me get a more accurate mix. The sound of the headphones is darker overall compared to speakers but I swap between the headphones and monitors to get a good representation of the whole frequency range. The cable is plenty long to reach from my computer to my mic setup roughly 6 feet away. They're pretty decent for some budget headphones.

I will be using my headphones for recording. I love the sound that comes from these headphones. They're a little bulky, I could get use to that. The design is great!
