I can simultaneously mix tracks from StudioOne and live instruments/mics for my band's in ear monitors. The user interface the most intuitive I've seen for digital mixers. Unfortunately I did have this device breakdown on me twice since buying it (still under warranty thankfully).

  • Good live. USB not fast enough monitor recording w/o latency

Latency makes it unusable in a recording studio situation. Although polite; tech help from presonus amounts to telling you "it's being used by a lot of people without any problems". Bought it through guitar center so was able to return it easily

  • Best investment ever.

This is one of PreSonus's latest rack units in their Series lll line up. I already use the RM32 but was looking for a smaller compact unit with most of the same features, plus it has a few more! 16 inputs, 6 mono, (or 3 Stereo) Aux/Monitor outs, 2 RCA L/R outs plus the L/R Mains, all in 1 Rack Unit👏👏👏 USB connect to your Laptop or direct Ethernet to your wireless Router for control with UC Surface, which has also been updated. Connects right away without any dropouts at all since everything is direct. We've done a number of shows with it and I love it! Set up is easier, Sound is great....... what more could you ask for?..... besides getting paid a little more for the gig 🙈. LOL

Works like a Charm!! I use this for our smaller shows where I don't need my RM32 & CS18. Very happy with it!

I'm now using this in place of my RM32/CS18 for our smaller shows we 16 Inputs & 3 Monitor Mixes are fine. I have to say it has been everything expected. Here are some of the reasons I made the additional purchase and the results: 1). Wanted to reduce what I was loading up as well as having to breakdown in the Studio for a smaller show Results: a). In 1 4U Rack case I now have a Furman Power Source, the 16R & and a 2U Crown 2000 Watt Amp (that will handle a 2ohm load), that weighs less than 40lbs! This allows the Amp to easily power 2-15" Mains & 4 - 12" Floor Wedges b). Things to keep in mind is that you lose the ability to EQ each monitor since you are only using the Aux, however using the tools in UC Surface, Fat Channel, RTA & GEQ I had really no issues with getting a great mix & dealing with any feedback issues. I also have a Studio 192 for recording as well as my RM32, which works great, but the next step with the 16R is to see how well it works, but I don't anticipate any issues. The cool thing is you can use the R16 to monitor your headphone mix as well so there should be NO latency issues. As far as the iPad connecting, key is have your Router fired up first, then with the direct connect to the Router the iPad connects perfectly!!
