The guitar has a glossy finish, but when I laid the pickguard down and smoothed it out carefully with my hand, it had score of little white air pockets. I used my fingernail to press it down all over, but from an angle you could still see it. It was ugly. I removed it immediately.

Thing is peeling in layers after very light use. Bubbling up. Looks terrible, will probably soon not even protect the guitar. Will need to be replaced. Can not recommend this product.
yes I would pay the little extra and buy again

I like the look of a the clean wood grain on top of my fender CD140 and still wanted a pick guard. One thing I did not think about is that my guitar is two years old and the wood is lighter underneath the old pick guard location. I don't mind but hopefully it will even out over time. This guard feels thinner than the stock tortoise shell one that came on the guitar and I can even feel the top vibrating through it even though my ear is not good enough to tell if there is any real difference in the sound. I like the look much better and it makes me want to play more and that's what counts. Very easy to peel and stick after removing the old sticker residue. There were no instructions but I recommend peeling one corner, place it where you want it and slowly peeling the back as you press it in place to avoid as many bubbles as possible. It lined up well on my fender without triming.
