I like the extra sustain this product produces when I put it on my splash cymbal.
Pretty good approximation of "rivet" sizzle

I have a crash/ride cymbal and wanted to see if a "rivet" sound would add to its personality. It does, but it is subtler and has less sizzle sustain than the real riveted cymbals I have played recently. It also dries out the sound a bit, which is a bonus for this particular cymbal. In sum, this is a good, fairly inexpensive way for me to determine if I want to drill this cymbal and add a couple or three rivets.

i bought the rattler to add a unique flair and sound to my 'trash cymbal' set up. i hadn't heard of many people using these and thought "it couldn't hurt". it took my nasty cymbal to another level. not too little and not too much. adds the perfect accent to a gross sounding cymbal to make a unique and very cool noise. i'll bet this would sound great with any traditional cymbal as well to add some sustain and sizzle. i love it. well worth the $12.

This cymbal rattler works well for me. Great sizzle effect. I set it on my 18 inch Zildjian A Custom crash and I use it like a ride and lighty crash on it. It is real simple to take off or put on.
