Good Case If It Fits

Bought one of these to replace wooden case of a bari sax that my daughter was borrowing from her school, it fit well and made the instrument much easier to carry and the pockets were handy for storing her music folder, harness, extra reeds, etc. Quality of materials and workmanship seems good and case is affordably priced. Bought another one for another of the school's Bari saxes but sadly the case wasn't quite wide enough to fit the bell of this particular Bari (case would not be able to close, probably needed about another 1" width) so we had to return the second case

This is a great and well made case but Saxes, like feet in shoes, have a unique fit requirement. We purchased a bari sax off ebay and it arrived in one of these cases. The bumper material was just soft enough that a good shock to the case allowed a key and guard to hit the side of the case and bend the guard and tone hole. We had pictures of the instrument before shipment and no damage existed at that point. We returned that instrument and case but purchased this case from Guitar Center for a vintage instrument we purchased from a local seller. It had an old wooden case which we would prefer not to use. It is clear that we will have to revise bumper material (more dense) and add some bumpers for the old B flat bari for a case designed to hold a Low A bari. This case is a great starting point for Bari Saxophones but modifications are needed for some instruments if your case will experience any sort of rough handling. For the money, this case offers good value for basic protection.
