RCF

collapse expand iconDescription

The RCF J8 features a line source satellite module with eight 2” full-range drivers paired with a high-powered 12” woofer in a bass reflex enclosure. All powered by onboard 1,400W Class-D amplification. The EVOX J Series maintains a similar footprint to the original EVOX systems, now in a portable composite enclosure.

The system offers stunning sound performance with crystal-clear vocal reproduction and unparalleled musical response. RCF's Class-D power amplifier technology packs huge performance operating with high efficiency into a lightweight solution. D-Line amplifiers deliver ultra-fast attack, realistic transient response and impressive audio performance. The amplifier features a solid mechanical aluminum structure which not only stabilizes the amplifier during transportation but also helps the fanless heat dissipation. The EVOX J amplifiers present SMPS power supply section in order to produce maximum output and minimum transportation weight.

The ultra-compact, full-range 2” RCF drivers are capable of handling high SPL and power with a stunning sound performance. The high excursion 12” RCF woofer extends to the lowest frequencies offering quick and precise punch. The bass-reflex port design avoids air turbulence reducing distortions. The EVOX design features constant directivity coverage of 120°x30°(HxV), providing a perfect coverage pattern. The vertical array is progressively shaped to guarantee consistent sound coverage from the first row to the last.

In addition to the handle on top of the woofer’s cabinet, transportation is made easy thanks to the trolley, that is fully integrated into the optional cover of the speaker. During transportation, the metal pole is safely attached to the trolley with the cover’s handles. Screw the pole into the pole mount on top of the subwoofer. Insert the top column, connect the SpeakOn and it’s done. An adjustable fastener allows the pole’s length to be adapted. Carrying and mounting your audio system has never been so quick.

From solo musicians to big DJ parties, the EVOX J system flexibility is a must. Thanks to the multiple outputs and the FiRPHASE processing with 0° phase response, reaching the best listening experience on any venue is an easy task. Check out some standard configurations to understand the system set-up.

RCF speakers are designed using a proprietary and advanced FiR filtering technology, conceived to deliver transparent sound, absolute clarity and perfect stereo images to the listener. The special FiRPHASE filters allow to achieve coherent distribution of sound for all listeners without phase distortions, ensuring minimum latencies to the system.

NICEST SOUND EVER - MUST HAVE ITEM

I've been a musician since young... as every musician knows {if you are one} relying on the sound tech/sound engineer it's crucial and me being a drummer ask for the most almost impossible things that a sound tech can imagine .. Right now been drumming for almost 20 years and can say that I've developed certain taste and I'm very mettlesome with the sound of my instrument - I took courses on sound engineering and trained my ear researching several drummers so I could emulate a hybrid sound on those elements that catched my attention. With that said... LET'S TALK BUSSINESS! For my Pop/Rock Band I bought a PA System and I was happy with the sound quality, but on some venues I wasn't able to feel the prescence that normally was present. One day someone invited me to a Demo Show and the RCF Evox 8 were pounding there with a croud of almost 800.. I saw 2 of them and there was a JazzTrio on the site - Then came a DJ and there was that I learned that the RCF EVOX Line meant MONEY! The sound was clear and crisp at all times - nice whoomph from the bass - no matter were I moved the volume remained stable an clear.. THAT BLEW MY MIND! Some months later the RCF EVOX J8 were released and I began doing some reseach - "SAME SOUND AND ALMOST $700 CHEAPER!! THAT I GOTTA HAVE!!" I said - IN CONCLUSSION - I BOUGHT 2 OF THESE MINI MONSTERS AND BOUGHT 2 RCF HD10 FOR SIDEFIELD MONITORS { DUE TO MY SINGER DOESN'T LIKE IN-EARS } GET THESE - YOUR LIFE WILL CHANGE FOREVER!

White J8 outer shell was cracked/splintered from factory

Opened this brand new white Evox J8 this morning and found a 4-inch crack/splinter along the side and bottom of the front plastic casing. This does not bode well for the durability - or should I say, fragility - of the new white Evox J8 casing. I may eventually opt for the Evox 8 or 12 instead because of this case quality issue, although I primarily chose the J8 model because it comes in white: I intend on having it be a visible fixture in my living room. Will be calling the manager of the GC I bought it from (Laurel, MD) this morning to get a resolution. Great sounding speaker, though! I'm a big fan of the Evox 12 systems I have rented in the past.

I bought a pair for my college son to do some DJ gigs for extra money and some fun while he's in college, and we compared with the current Harbinger MLS900. The J8 sounds so clean and clear, tons of bass and so much more power. Highly recommended!!!

I have been finding myself using these more and more as my JBL 705 XLF and PRX 915 collect dust (very disappointed with the JBL PRX 915 btw). Did several smaller events with 150 and the sound filled the room. Probably going to get the EVOX 12's to compliment these for larger events. Great deal for the price. Bought these over the EV as the top array's height is adjustable.

After doing extensive research I bought a pair of these for a 4-piece band to use in bars and clubs where there's limited space. The singer was skeptical at first but we decided to try them in a room that can be a bit challenging for sound due to the shape and limited stage space. At the end of the night she was a believer and said they sounded rich and clear. Although these won't be used as our primary PA speakers they easily could be. Paired with my Midas MR18 mixer they make for an easy portable setup, sound amazing, and have plenty of power. I'm eager to try these in more rooms and maybe even an outdoor gig.

The descriptions and YouTube video reviews of this unit can not possibly do it justice. You absolutely must hear them, see them, pick them up, then buy them.

  • Great sound and volume for the price

Very impressed with the design of these. The satellite speaker stores in a clever alcove in front of the amp module. Was first concerned at having the volume up pretty high to get the sound needed (3/4) but no major overloading even when super loud. Did very well for a live music practice with 2 loud guitarists. Incredibly light for the price. Excellent service from Angelo and the team at Guitar Center Kalamazoo - one of the open box units i initially bought was not working properly and they arranged an immediate refund and replacement which arrived in a few days.
