18" Subwoofer Is Perfect for Live Sound Applications

At the heart of the SUB 708-AS MK3 is an 18" subwoofer with a 1,400-watt Class-D amplifier. Designed as the ideal complement for 8" or 10" loudspeakers, it provides outstanding performance in any live sound application. Its rugged all-wood cabinet with scratch-resistant polyurea coating makes it built to withstand the demands of high-power applications.

1,400-Watt Amplifier Delivers Plenty of Power

Driving the 18" woofer is a 1,400-watt Class-D amplifier with a built-in active crossover and limiter. The high-power amp provides more than enough juice for live shows and studio work, while the crossover and soft limiter help optimize the frequency response and prevent distortion. Its state-of-the-art transducer with a high-power ceramic magnetic circuit and a powerful Class-D amplifier deliver sound pressure levels up to 133dB with exceptional headroom. Rear panel controls include volume, EQ, polarity and crossover frequency selection.

    I have been using RCF products for years now and will be the first to honestly admit they have some really great products and some duds. I have been really impressed with the sub series, this latest iteration brings the look of the speaker in line with modern sleek industry standards. I was using this at a wedding last night and not once did I have this hitting the limit light whereas I have other subs that would either be limiting or just downright not sound as good as this does. If you are looking for tight punchy bass, then try the sub705, but for room filling bass that will rattle the walls this is the option for you. When I was shopping around I tried this against other brands and offerings by RCF and for me this is the best value compared to sub8003 and sub8004. My typical use is indoor venues 200 people or less. I would have no issue taking two of these to a high school dance for several hundred. Simple, easy to use controls make this a breeze to setup and get dialed in quickly. It is not the easiest sub to lug around with only one person, but a dolly and trailer loading is no problem for me.
