The first one that came with the NTK lasted about 6 months, along with all the constant frustration of it not upholding the weight of the relatively heavy NTK microphone it comes with, and subsequently having to tighten it down, further tiring out the already incapable and underspec'd hardware. I idiotically decided to give Rode another chance and purchased a second one thinking the first one was a B-stock fluke, but ended up yielding the same result. Failure do to cheap & supple plastic construction. To its credit, I believe it lasted a couple months longer, but that's still, frankly, pathetic. Rode, don't even bother including it with a microphone that it cannot effectively perform it's job with. This microphone would be an ideal purchase for a musician looking to waste their money. Unless that's your objective, I'd suggest looking elsewhere. I'll give it two stars because they still do the job they're supposed to... For a short amount of time albeit.

This shock mount has some great features. It is wide and can handle a large capsule. The spring rubber is very easy to wind through the spider work. The mic can screw onto the base very securely. Previously I had a spring clamp model with very hard to braid webwork. This is great. It is made of very sturdy, beefy, light weight plastic.
