When it got here the outer box and the other box that the banjo was in was perfect with no damage it all. But when i tried to take the banjo out of the box the head stock fell right off. It was Brocken right off. So I think it was broke when who ever put it in the box.
LOVE this banjo!

LOVE this banjo. Great tone and quality. I would not have higher expectations in this price range. It is not ornate, but it is beautiful in its simplicity.
Wonderful tone...really packs a punch

I had my reservations about purchasing a Recording King banjo, but the cyber monday deal came along and I couldn't resist getting over $200 off this banjo, so I took a chance. I'm really please with the instrument. It's well balanced, great quality, and I would b comfortable taking it to jams or performing with it. The only con, really, is that it's not a Gibson. And in that case, my budget just isn't at the price point to buy a vintage Gibson banjo, so this is a wonderful substitute. Like many instruments made in China of high quality, the materials and craftmanship is impressive, but it can use a professional luthier setup. No surprise there. Well-built, but after a setup this instrument really sings.
