Remo Advent Djembe 10 x 20 in. Black

Description
The Remo Advent Djembe—an affordable hand drum that packs a punch. Remo designed this 10" x 20" djembe for recreational players, with a synthetic suede drumhead and impact-resistant ABS shell that can handle outdoor use. The Advent Djembe produces a wide range of tones, from the low rumble of a djembe to the ringing slap of a doumbek. Thanks to its compact, lightweight build, the Advent Djembe is easy to transport and play anywhere. The Remo Advent Djembe makes hand drumming accessible to everyone.
Synthetic Drumhead Provides Consistent, Weather-Resistant Sound
The Advent Djembe features Remo's signature synthetic suede drumhead, which provides a consistent tone regardless of humidity or temperature. The drumhead's material is also water-resistant, allowing you to play the Advent Djembe in a range of weather conditions without damage. The synthetic drumhead produces a warm, resonant tone with strong projection, similar to a natural hide drumhead.
Durable ABS Shell Withstands Impact
Remo constructed the Advent Djembe's shell from durable ABS plastic, which resists cracking or denting from drops or impacts. The ABS material is lightweight yet sturdy, with molded ridges that provide grip. The shell's simple, circular shape focuses the drum's tone for maximum projection.
Versatile, Portable Design
Weighing just over 3 pounds, the Advent Djembe is easy to transport wherever you want to play. Its compact 10" x 20" size fits in a backpack or the trunk of a car. The Advent Djembe's versatile design works for a range of musical styles and playing techniques, from traditional West African rhythms to recreational drum circles.
Affordable, High-Quality Djembe
Remo's Advent Djembe provides amazing value for recreational hand drummers. Though affordably priced, the Advent Djembe is built to Remo's high standards of quality and durability. For an introduction to hand drumming or a casual practice drum, the Advent Djembe delivers professional-level performance at a budget-friendly cost.

You Need One of These, or Maybe Even TWO!!
I was going to wait a month or so before writing, but after six days, I am convinced that this has to be the best value in djembes. I got it to have as a "companion" to my 16" Remo djembe. I have it tuned so it sounds like a doumbek, but it sounds great when tuned lower, too. It sounds great either way. I played it in church where I keep my big drum. Its complemented the sound of my other drum beautifully. I took it to an open mic/jam session where it acquitted itself well. I can't imagine how one could damage this drum. At its pricepoint, you could have two of these; one tuned high and one low. GET ONE! NOW!

Not so - Impact Resistant
Advertised as 'ABS durable-plastic materials that are impact resistant'. I bought this drum for my brother. Poor choice. The first night the drum tipped over and broke in half. There is a seam between the bowl of the drum and the base. This is apparently a weak spot. We returned the drum the next day and got a TOCA Freestyle II. That fully synthetic drum sounds great and has no seam between the bowl and base. It is also a lighter drum. I have both Remo and Toca djembes with synthetic and goat skin heads, and I like the TOCA Freestyle II for my beginner brother. I wouldn't be intimidated by the rope tuning system. With a synthetic head, the weather and room humidity conditions have very little effect on the tuning of the drum. I would not recommend the Remo Advent to anyone. Had that drum broke 4 months down the road, we probably wouldn't have been able to return it so easily!

The Remo Advent Djembe is the best when it comes to djembes! I had played the Apex paddle before and was delighted with its sound, and the person who lent it to me told me about this line of remo djembes and without thinking twice I ordered this advent paddle because of its size and its good reviews. I was anxious to be able to play it and finally I have it in my hands!! It's great to play in the church where I played the bongos and making the switch to the djembe I think was the best decision.
Fun Instrument and has utility!

Drum is really durable, portable and fits in bag with other rhythm instruments. I feel comfortable taking it to the river, beach, mountain, camping, parade. Can use it to model accompaniments for student drummers/drum circle, but need to add a strap so can be mobil. Too small in length to play like traditional djembe, unless use a stand or strap, otherwise have to hold between knees. If have a choice, go to the 12 inch which is much more like African Djembe. I will use this drum, it is fun to play, no complaints.
I would buy this for personal use and for Drum circles

I use this for practicing drum beats almost anywhere I go. It is easy to carry around and light weight. I keep it in my Jeep to take with me in the event I can use it. Far easier to carry this around than my regular size Djembes. When I do use my larger Djembes, by taking this little drum with me I can let anyone play along with me after I set the beat. The drum can of course be made to look differently by adding decals, painting it or adding decorative cording.
Everyone wants to borrow this drum.

I play percussion at a mid sized church in Fresno Ca. I am pleased at the quality of this drum. I combine it with a larger Djembe and Congas and my home made shakers It is very responsive with a nice sound. A bit of a ring to it but some muffling takes care of that. and is very portable

Am I able to replace the head on this Djembe? I have this one, it will need a new head, but if I can't get a new head then I'll need to buy a new djembe.
I believe you can remove the head by loosening the lugs. Please give us a call if you would like some help 877 687 5403
