Revv Amplification

collapse expand iconDescription

Revv’s Red Channel 4 is a thick-gain monster that still has the nuance to cover oldschool tones. The G4 is an amp-voiced pedal based on this tone used by premier touring and recording guitarists worldwide.

Applying feedback the designers received from the G3 pedal – they developed the polar opposite to its surgical, mid-forward Purple Channel voicing. The G4 is a great place to start for thick, saturated, amp-like tones and a complement to the G3 or any existing rig.

  • Picked up to replace my MetalMuff

I was looking to replace a MetalMuff I picked up used years ago. I was looking for something to provide a metal sound and 3 band EQ, similar to the MetalMuff, but also a tighter and more defined sound. This pedal does the trick and then some. It handles my Jackson Dinky very well but best of all it handles my Chapman ML1 Baritone in drop A with no mud! That is something I have struggled with for some time. The baritone distortion is super clean and tight. It didn't take much to dial in a great sound. That being said this is pricey. However, guitar center will offer your 50% (ish) of resale value of a trade in as well as a discount if you purchase when you trade in (in my area it was a 10% discount, up to 15% for getting a demo model out of box) so there are ways to reduce the price significantly.

Right out of the box with all the knobs at noon (red aggression) into the front of my blackstar HT 50 this thing blew me away. It's been 3 weeks and still haven't turned a knob on it. It sounds so thick, and saturated, it makes me want to play constantly. I had very high expectations for this pedal at this price point, and it exceeded all of them. Sounds good thru my lil Vox ad30 too. I could go on, but I don't know what else I could say and quite frankly I want to play some more \m/
