Most shakers used in Live amplified performance are only heard by the player unless the shaker is also amplified which is really hard to do outside of a sound studio. The RT2040 gets through. It is big enough and has enough shot to cut through and be heard even over the largest speakers in a small room or over the club noise and conversation. If you want to be heard this is all you need. Draw back is its' size and weight. Your not going to be able to play this one every number all night unless your an "Arnold" but it does get the sound out that your looking for.
