Rhythm Tech RhythmTech Stickball Shaker

Description
According to Billy Ward, a world-renowned jazz and studio musician, "The Stickball replaces all those egg-shakers you've tried to get to work in a studio environment. They just aren't loud enough and they're too high-pitched. It's better than a dozen eggs because it's darker sounding and the microphones love it."

I try to mix percussion in to my drumming as much as possible, so anything that allows me to add extra textures and sounds in to my playing, while still playing the standard kit it a big plus for me. It takes a bit of getting used to, because the stick will obviously feel a lot heavier with the shaker ball attached to it, but it is doable. The sound cuts through the mix fairly well. Not the greatest shaker tone in the world, but pretty decent and worth using when you want to incorporate a shaker in to your playing but don't want to sacrifice not being able to play the hi hat or ride.

Okay, cool product, like the effect. Trying to play with this is a little awkward and heavy but can be done slid down closer to the hand.
good idea, bad implementation

The sound IS good. but the quality is rather shoddy. The little beads will come undone because the way they glue it is just insufficient. only 2 glue points. I suggest that if you get a new one, open it. and super glue the heck out of it.
