The Archer is a versatile overdrive/boost effects pedal with amazing headroom that is designed to help you cut through the mix. The Archer is sort of a two-in-one pedal. It can be used as just a clean boost by turning the gain all the way down. As you introduce gain, it will attenuate the clean signal but there is a magical blend in between that you will find. Experiment with the settings and be careful with the output—this dude is loud.

Output: The volume control is very powerful and drives fairly hard relatively early. This allows you to hit the front end of an amp or pedal to get very aggressive or crystal clear.
Treble: The treble control is a very effective EQ that goes from dark to a very "chimey," bright tone. It's great to create that midrange clarity.
Gain: The gain also acts as a mixer control between the clean boost and the gain. Turn the gain all the way down and your output becomes the volume for all clean boost. Start blending in the gain control, and it will simultaneously reduce clean volume and introduce gain...somewhere in the middle is the sweet spot or mix of the two.

All J. Rockett Audio Designs pedals operate off of the standard BOSS-type 9V adapter or a single 9V battery. The power input is a 5.5 mm x 2.1 mm jack with the positive voltage on the outer sleeve. Using an external power supply will automatically disconnect the battery. Disconnect the input jack to preserve battery life when not in use or when not used with an appropriate, external power supply.

  • Top Of The Klones

I've been through most of the Klon clones that they've got out there (Soul Food, Sugar Drive, Conspiracy Theory, Tumnus, etc.), and after everything, this particular model seems to encompass the sound that I am after. I even tried the Archer Ikon, but the silver Archer still came out on top. Despite the greatness of all of the Klones, this one sounds the sweetest to me, and has the loveliest character. Also, an important thing to note, Rockett were actually the guys commissioned to build the Klon KTR's, so I'd imagine that these pedals are probably the closest of the Klones to the real thing, if that kind of thing matters to you.

I use this like most people do, boosting the EQ of your sound. I'll use this pedal on it's own to add more mids to my Fender amp or added to a m uff style pedal as a lead boost. Occasionally I'll up the drive on the pedal and use it to add a little more bite to my clean tone. Great pedal.

  • A must have for guitarists

I was very skeptical at the 'klone' possibilities available. These archer pedals were however top on my list. I first bought the Gold one and after watching many more videos I decided to purchase this one as well. It stacks well with other pedals and also works before other boost pedals for solos. You can adjust the gain down and use it as an always on tone shaper or crank the gain to get perfect overdrive. The silver is a little brighter than the gold but in no way do I find it harsh. I would have a hard time recommending just one of the archers, so spend the money to get both. You won't regret it

I put this in front of the pedal chain for boost/grit on signal. You can crank the gain for a pretty raunchy rock sounding crunch, but she won't do metal or hard rock gain-that's not what this pedal is about. The Archer has more gain then the Ikon (gold)pedal. Some people put both in line for boost and crunch.Super high quality-built like a tank,it's heavy, you can feel the quality.

  • Awesome pedal.

I use it as a boost to my Keeley Katana blues pedal. Doesn't color the tone, very transparent. I run my pedals through a clean amp. Also, use it as a clean boost. It's a very versatile pedal.
