Rogue P9 Bulk 12-Pack .009 Plain Steel Electric Guitar Strings

Description
These are the same guitar strings Rogue uses in prepackaged retail sets. What's the difference? We package 12 strings of the same gauge in airtight vinyl bags with a packet of silica gel to protect against unwanted moisture, so they last longer than typical string sets. We also pack these bulk strings in big, loose coils to avoid compressing or stretching the windings, so they sound better than tightly coiled strings. Rogue Strings are made for us exclusively by a famous manufacturer, employing the finest materials and the latest manufacturing methods.

Features
- 12-pack
- Solid steel strings
- Gauge .009

Works as Expected
I like to change my strings all at once when I'm able, but noticed that I was breaking my high E a little more often, leaving me with unbalanced partial sets. I decided to try these out and have been quite pleased. Even mid-gig they get into and stay in tune pretty quickly so you're not having to fight it all night. I'll probably pick up some of the other sizes too... so nice to have singles available and at such a reasonable price. PS: I got a new set of mandolin strings the other day and broke one of the .010s in it, leaving me with a 7-string mandolin! I decided to give these a shot (since I had them), popped the ball end off and strung it onto the mandolin right next to the .010 and it's holding great... even the same intonation!

disappointed this time
I have bought these strings from MF for over 20 years. This time the 9 gauge strings were coming apart at the ball end until I started holding the ball with one set of pliers and on the windings of strings (next to the ball) locking there with another set of pliers. I gave three or four full turns with the ball to add extra twists to the windings. That has solved the problem so far. These are usually consistently good. I do believe that if the manufacturer added 3 or 4 extra turns it would solve the separation.

I've been a novice for decades. I don't change strings as often as I should since I don't play concerts, etc. These strings are a life saver. Breaking a string used to mean installing a new set. Now, I can just replace the one needed in a minute and keep playing.
I would buy this product again
