Introducing Roland AIRA Compact | T-8 Beat Machine, J-6 Chord Synthesizer, E-4 Voice Tweaker

Getting to Know Roland AIRA Compact Series

Description
The Roland AIRA Compact J-6 Chord Synthesizer puts legendary JUNO synth tones and an ingenious chord sequencer in your pocket. Generate soul-stirring chord progressions and grooves in seconds to spark new musical ideas anytime, anywhere. This innovative gadget gives musicians of all levels a portable wellspring of creativity.
Choose From 100+ Genre-Spanning Chord Sets
With a vast array of chord sets tailored to styles from pop and rock to jazz and EDM, you'll never run out of fresh harmonic fuel. Simply select a set and craft chord progressions on the fly using one-touch pads—no music theory needed. Send chords to other MIDI gear or use the J-6's synth engine and effects to build fully fledged backing tracks.
Move and Groove With Rhythmic Arpeggios and Phrases
Infuse your chords with movement using the J-6's arpeggio and style variations. Sweeping arpeggios, rhythmic strumming and percussive phrases transform static chords into compelling grooves at the touch of a button. Engage the hold function to keep patterns playing as you experiment with different sounds and textures.
Craft Complete Songs With the Intuitive 64-Step Chord Sequencer
Once you've devised a chord progression, use the J-6's sequencer to build it into a full song structure. Quickly enter chords, single notes, style variations and tempo changes across 64 steps per pattern and 64 patterns total. Tweak filter, envelope and effects settings in real time as your sequence plays back through the iconic JUNO-60 synth engine.
Expand Your Creative Possibilities With Connectivity
The J-6 interfaces with other AIRA gear like the T-8 Beat Machine and E-4 Voice Tweaker, as well as DAWs, MIDI keyboards and more via USB-C or MIDI ports. Back your chord progressions with drums and bass, add vocal textures or incorporate the J-6 into a larger studio or live setup. A lithium-ion battery provides up to 4.5 hours of cordless creativity.

Good for what it is, don't expect more than what it is

I bought the Roland J-6 to pair with my Roland TR-6S for on the go fun and it's been great. I really like it, but would note that it's sounds are very limited. It's best use would be as a MIDI controller for other synths with more sound depth.
Phenomenal sounding synth

I'd had my eye on one of these for a while now and finally bit the bullet and bought one. Boy am I glad I did! Right out of the box and without any programming, it sounds phenomenal. It's impossible to get a bad sound out of this thing, Roland really knocked it out of the park. A great accompaniment for an existing synth setup or awesome as a standalone.

There is a learning curve, but there is a lot of things it does well. The chords and chord progressions are amazing for all genres in Music. The ability to add your own tweaks is useful to me. I will use it for music creation and to chill out.

I expected a learning curve when I ordered this, after watching some videos. Unfortunately, most of the decent videos for this product are not from the company. Their should be several quick start videos to take you where you need to go. I will figure out what I need it to do, but I also have no doubt it has capabilities I will never discover. This is a prime example of great engineering from the sound designers, but lacks an interface from a decent product design team.
