Roland Blues Cube Artist 80W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp

Description
Performance-Ready Amp
Ready for live playing, the Blues Cube Artist is equipped with 60 watts of power, plus a custom 12-inch speaker that's been specially designed for maximum tonal response with Tube Logic. The open-back cabinet features poplar plywood construction, which offers acoustically vibrant tone for solo or group performances.
Clean, Crunch and Dual Tone
The Blues Cube Artist has two independent channels—one voiced for cleaner tones, and the other for crunch. Each channel has its own Boost and Tone switches to shape the character. The Clean channel's single volume control dials in natural tube fullness and bite as the volume is cranked, while the Crunch channel' variable gain control provides a range of grit flavors from mild to aggressive. With the press of a switch, the unique Dual Tone mode lets you blend both channels together for an endless array of rich tones. And just like a vintage tube amp, the Blues Cube loves stomp-boxes, allowing you to further shape your personal sound by hitting the amp' front end with your favorite gain pedals.
Wide-Open Sound at Any Volume
Every tube-amp player knows that you really need to turn up the volume and push the output tubes to get the amp to sing at its best. The downside is that the sound simply becomes too loud for playing anywhere but the biggest stages—though that's certainly never stopped guitarists from trying! With Tube Logic, the Blues Cube authentically delivers the complex distortion characteristics of a pair of 6L6 output tubes and their interaction with the output transformer, with the sound getting richer and the feel becoming more dynamically responsive as the overall volume is increased. But with the Blues Cube's variable Power Control, you'e able to enjoy this musical, cranked-up tone while matching the volume to any situation, from recording to rehearsals to nightclub gigs and beyond.

Suprisingly good an flexible amp
After years of use my tube amplifier was broke. After watching demo's of the Blues Cube Artist on YouTube I Want to test the amp myself. From that moment on I was complete in love with the tone en flexibility of this amp. The channelswitching is a major feature with 6 different sounds. Also brighten up the tone with little swithes is possible but a mather of taste. The Tine is warm, honest and realy versitile. Different from my old amp but realy with the response I love on tube amps. Than the poweshift from 2 watts to 80 watts is very usefull. From beadroom to stage you get the loudness and tone you need. Than the use of my pedals loves the RBC. Some in front and some through send and return. Than I bought the New York tone capsule wich was designed by Roland and Oz Noy. This is amazing! A little bit more jazz-funk-rock in the tone. And that was the sweet spot I was lookig for. So when you are looking for a tube amp with light weight and flexible use try it yourself and close your eye and listen. That's the real way to make up your blues mind!

1x12 with 80 watts!
For the amp I'd received brand new, it sounded pretty muddy to me. I'd seen all of these reviews and I was sold on it. I wasn't happy with mine. I'm returning it. And it's a little steep for a 1/12 amp.

I buy, sell, trade A LOT of gear, especially with GC's 45 day return policy. Well, I bought this amp, tried it for about a month and for some reason I got hitched to the Boss Katana wagon, traded the Roland back in for the Boss Katana Artist and, though the Boss amp has all the bells and whistles anyone would need, I only need a great sounding plug and play amp. The only affect I use other than reverb and tremolo is a little bit of delay now and then and some chorus. I traded in the Boss for some other gear and now that I need a guitar amp again I will purchase the Roland artist again. the 60W Stage version would be very suitable but I love Roland's tremelo affect and the Aritist provides that plus a little more power.
Totally happy with the Blues Cube Artist

I finally pulled the trigger on a digital amp. I've been playing guitar for 36 years. Started with a fender blues deluxe and then a fender deluxe reverb. Traded everything in for Peavey classic and an American Strat in 1996, played with just it and a Strat for over 20 years. Was really happy with that combination but had to get some ambient pedals as I stated playing space rock music. I started upgrading my rig. Decided to buy some Custom shop guitars and boutique amps. Got a Bogner and a Budda. Both awesome amps, but actually missed my Peavey. After so many years with just the Peavey and Strat made me really get the feel of that set up. Getting the BCA was like getting my Peavey classic back on steroids. I dialed in my old Peavey clean and dirt in about 5 mins. But from there it's even more versatile, the Bassman character and tones are really awesome to my playing style and ear. I've been having a lot of fun playing this amp. To be honest it is my favorite amp out of all that I have played on. I feel confident that I can get the sounds and tones I want out of it at any volume level. So easy to get it dialed in. My back up plan was to get a Tweed Blues Jr if I still needed to have a tube amp on hand, but right now I'm thinking I will probably get a Blues Cube Hot instead. I'll give it a month or two to make sure, but honestly this thing sounds every bit as good to me as any tube amp I've had. Now I can just spend my time playing.

Great sounding tube emulation. Take pedals extremely well. Loud enough for any band.
