Roland SuperNATURAL Sound Engine for Realistic Tonality

The heart of the RD-200EX is Roland's SuperNATURAL sound engine, which delivers rich, expressive tones that faithfully replicate the sound of an acoustic piano. This advanced technology ensures seamless transitions between notes, capturing every subtlety of your playing dynamics. The sound engine also includes a wide range of additional instrument voices, such as electric pianos, strings, and organs, giving you the flexibility to explore different sonic textures. With adjustable resonance, hammer noise, and damper response, this model allows players to customize their tone for maximum expression. The result is a stage piano that produces lifelike sound with incredible depth and clarity.

PHA-50 Keybed for Authentic Feel

The RD-200EX is equipped with Roland's PHA-50 keyboard, which combines wood and durable molded materials for a tactile playing experience that closely mirrors that of an acoustic grand piano. Each key features escapement and an ivory-feel surface, enhancing grip and control during performances. The graded hammer action ensures that lower keys have a heavier touch, while higher keys feel lighter—just like an acoustic instrument. This attention to detail supports nuanced playing techniques and encourages expressive performance. Whether you're practicing delicate passages or delivering a powerful crescendo, the PHA-50 keybed ensures responsive and precise control.

The RD-200EX features a streamlined control panel with an intuitive layout, enabling quick and easy access to essential functions. Dedicated knobs and sliders allow for real-time adjustments to EQ, effects, and sound layers, making this stage piano ideal for live performance. Onboard effects such as reverb, chorus, and tremolo add depth and character to your sound, while a built-in compressor ensures consistent dynamics. The ability to layer and split sounds offers even greater flexibility, letting you create complex textures effortlessly. As a professional keyboardist for over 45 years and proud owner of many Roland keyboards in the past, I can't say enough good things about the RD-2000 EX. My only regret is why I didn't purchase this board sooner because it's been on my radar for a while. Hands down THE BEST keyboard I've ever owned, and I've had many. The PHA-50 keyboard is one of the closest you'll get to a real acoustic piano and is inspiring to play. When I start playing on this it brings back the joy of spontaneous improv and creative combustion! It really is that special. And the sound arsenal is outstanding. Gorgeous acoustics and electric pianos, lush Roland synths and strings, basses galore, orchestral, etc. This unit has every sound you'll ever need...all 1,200 of them! And it also has extensive editing power to customize any of the preset tones to your needs where you can then save it. It's built like a tank, feels great to touch and move the many sliders and knobs, a manageable 48 lbs., and looks sleek. Everything is laid out intuitively and makes sense. When I got it, of course I played it for hours to hear some of the amazing sounds, but then I methodically read the 28-page manual to fully comprehend and understand it capabilities. This is especially effective as you're trying out the functions as you're reading about them. Then I went back and did it a second time. The end result is that I mastered this keyboard in about two weeks and now am ready to go full fledge when I decide to use it in a performance situation. I also went through all 1,200 tones and marked off all of my favorites in all categories. Performance? This RD-2000 EX is built with performance and controller functions in mind. One of the most intensive set of MIDI controller functions available on the market today. I think I counted over 30 real time controller options to choose from. And there's 300 program user slots to store your multi-layered/split creations (up to eight zones!). There's also the handy scene feature which allows you to store 100 additional programs in any order you chose, similar to the outstanding 'chain' feature on the Roland A90-EX. This allows you to create 10 banks of song sets all programmed to your exact specs...priceless for switching between setups in a live situation. I'm very meticulous when it comes to researching any new keyboard I invest in. I spent many hours reading the online reviews, watching YouTube videos, etc. and even went to my local Guitar Center hoping they had one on the floor to try out. They didn't, so I took a big risk ordering this without trying out the action. The gamble paid off in spades! If you're in the market for a pro keyboard that will last you for years, you can't go wrong with the beauty. It really is that good and I highly recommend it.

I tried a brand new unit compared to a rhodes mk8 and I have to tell you the Roland Electric pianos are far better than the real mark 8. Also, the Roland EX features better pianos and electric pianos Than the previous version and the pha 50 keyboard seems a lot better Than the original one and I would recommend to buy for anyone That's a stage piano player.
