For someone who is 6'5", the Roland TD-02KV V-Drums Kit can work, but there are a few limitations and customization tips to be aware of for comfortable playing at that height: Height Adjustment Overview The TD-02KV uses a compact MDS-LITE stand, which is lightweight and easy to assemble—great for space-saving, but not ideal for very tall players. Rack height is somewhat limited compared to Roland’s higher-end kits (e.g., TD-17 or TD-27 series). Pad arms and cymbal booms have limited reach, so ergonomic customization can be restricted out-of-the-box. Possible Workarounds Stool/Throne Adjustment: Use a taller drum throne, such as the Gibraltar 6608 or DW 5000 series, which go higher than standard models. Raising your seat can help bring the kit into a better ergonomic range. Custom Rack Options: Consider replacing the rack with a standard MDS-Compact or MDS-4V rack, which can allow more flexible positioning. Some players also use third-party racks for greater adjustability. Pedal Positioning: Foot positioning can feel cramped if you're tall. Consider positioning the hi-hat and kick pedals wider apart, but this depends on your floor space and the pads' cable lengths. Real-World Feedback Tall players (6’3” and up) often report needing to tinker with setup to avoid shoulder and back strain. Out of the box, it may feel a bit low and tight—especially if you’re used to acoustic kits or larger Roland setups. Verdict Yes, a 6'5" player can use the TD-02KV, but may need to: Raise their throne Adjust the rack creatively Consider long-term upgrading if serious practice or playing comfort is a concern.
