Rotosound

collapse expand iconDescription

Gauges 45-65-85-105. Pressure wound stainless steel. Long scale.
Solo Bass is made by rolling the wire as the string is being made. This string has 3 advantages over the conventional roundwound:
a smooth feel, ideal for fretless bass and studio work; no finger noise/reduced fretwear, and it retains the brightness of the roundwound string.
Rotosound is famous for their high quality electric bass strings.

These strings are a great balance between the bright tone of traditional round wounds and the comfort of flat wounds. Perfect for a Fender J bass or a Ricky.

All I can say is that Rotosound has always been my go-to strings for my bass. The tone is simply fantastic. What else needs to be said.

You just can't beat a classic for that great tone and feel. I have been using Rotosound strings of my bass guitars for a couple of decades now and I still wouldn't use anything else.

the strings are not usually sold in stores for what reason I don't know, but when you need the vintage sounds and want to save your frets from wearing down so fast, try these strings for a year. you will see the lighter wear and nice bright tones they have! also when moving between notes with slides etc, you don't get such a grabby release sound as with the standard round wound types.
