One of the original Rotosound sets from the early 1960s. These strings can be heard on many famous albums, used over the years by Sting, Phil Lynott, Steve Harris and John Deacon. Outstanding brilliance and superb tone.

Takes me back to 1965
I just got an Epiphone EB-O because it has a short (30.5") scale. I wanted to get that old vintage sound so prevalent back in the 60s. A better bridge and these flat-wounds more than did the trick. They went right on, and, for what it's worth, I had no problems with the silk getting in the way on either end. Now I have that vintage thump sound from the days of old. In fact, my EB-O now sounds EXACTLY like the Gibson bass the Animals bass player used. Yeah, that tone. I now have 14 basses, and they're all very different. This one is my only 4-string, and will always be the closest to my heart. my darling wife told me to go ahead and get it then passed away just before it came in. It's a beautiful bass, and these strings only made it more perfect. Can't ask for more.

Some inconsistency in silk windings on this set.
The A string was only 31.75" (this was for a short scale bass) from ball end to the silk winding (Rotosound's information states this should be 32.25") and I had to trim the silk as it was catching the nut (I have a Hipshot bridge on this bass which increases the bridge to nut length slightly). The other 3 strings did not present this problem. I wish Guitar Center would carry a larger selection of short scale strings.

Sound great and feel great. The tone is incredible. I just adore the sound. It's bright, punchy, and impactful, but the lows are still rumbly enough to hold a solid and heavy bottom line when I play rock music with my band.
I use these on a Hofner bass for my worship team.

I prefer the smooth sound especially with the Christian music we're playing. I often slide into a note and these strings are perfect.

Was looking for that British invasion bass sound and put these on a short scale bass and I am quite happy.
