Ruby Tube Matching Service for JJ Tubes EL84CZ

I have used Ruby products for several years now. These Ruby EL84CZ are a JJ branded tube in a Ruby box. Ruby has a 6 month warranty policy. Most tube companies do not. Ruby does not manufacture tubes they only test the tubes much like Groove Tubes. I have found no sonic difference between "real" JJ tubes and the Ruby tested JJ tubes. I have only had one bad tube. It was a 6L6 from a matched quad. The whole quad was replaced no problem. I find Ruby to provide durable predictable quality tubes. I am a fan of rolling tubes to get the best sonic qualities out of an amp. I have no "Brand" loyalty. Many times the Ruby tubes are priced less than the same JJ tube. Providing testing and a 6 month warranty and lower price is a win win win.

Just got them last week and gigged with them over the weekend. They sound great so far. No big deal but something of note, the tubes have the "JJ" logos stenciled on them and the Ruby name is basically stuck on over the "JJ" logo. I am using them in a Mesa Boogie Nomad 45 4x10

Much better than stock tubes

Much better sound than the stock PM tubes that were in my Orange AD30. Thicker bass, less harsh and more smooth sounding on the od channel.

These replaced some ancient EL-84s in my Mesa Boogie Studio .22 Cal amplifier. We have mainly played an American Standard Strat and Les Paul through the amp with the new tubes using both a Dunlop Crybaby and Marshall Bluesbreaker pedal. The tone is outstanding whether clean or overdriven. I like it more than the original sound with the Mesa Boogie tubes. The tubes were easy to install. The pins were all straight right out of the box. They really shine when you push them hard.
