The cymbals sound great. This is my first set of Sabian B8 cymbals. All of my other 33 cymbals are Sabian B20. Sabian and Zildjian treat B8 as beginner/entry level with a corresponding low price. I think the low price scares many people away because they think the cymbals will sound cheap. Paiste knows B8 and does B8 very well, but with a high price. B20 is very flexible and musical, whereas B8 is very stiff....and musical in its own way. I bought this Sabian B8 cymbal pack because it includes a 16" THIN crash, a 16" O-zone crash with holes. I figured a thin cymbal and a cymbal with holes would be more flexible and musical. I was right, the 2 crash cymbals sound great. The 20" ride is very heavy and rigid. It sounds great as a ride, but it is not a crashable ride. The 14" hats are my least favorite. But, I've been playing B20 hats for 35 yrs, so maybe I just have to get used to the new sound.
