The SKB Hardshell Guitar Case for Gibson Explorer/Firebird-Type guitars is a distinctively shaped case designed to fit "pointy style" guitars such as F-birds (including models with "banjo" style tuners), Exp's, Jackson Kelly, Jackson Warrior models, and more. This unique SKB case features a plush black lining over a molded EPS foam interior to cradle your guitar and provide neck support with a convenient accessory compartment.

The exterior is constructed of a nearly indestructible molded ABS polymer that has been engineered to provide the ultimate protection during transport with TSA recognized and accepted SKB trigger release latching system which allows the user to lock the case and still have it inspected by airline security personnel.

Additional features include a nearly indestructible injection molded rubber over-molded cushioned carrying handle with injection-molded feet and a bumper protected valance.

Great case!

Great case for my epiphone korina explorer. Solid case - great latches - soft interior. A little tighter by the headstock, but should be fine. Highly recommended product!

DO NOT BUY FOR 2016 FIREBIRD

Bought this for my 2016 Firebird T and the neck doesn't lay flat in the case so when you close the case it bends the neck

    The first time I picked it up with the guitar inside, the handle broke. The handle was still in its' "down" position, as it was when I removed it from the box and when I grabbed the handle it snapped. It is bummer because it seemed like it would offer great protection. I am not sure if there were quality issues during COVID but other case I have/had have were great.

    I have a '79 Gibson Explorer E2. I had to modify this case to make it work. The Explorer will not lay flat and will sit about 3/4 too high. Resulting in the guitar resting on the neck. I had to remove the foam from the case and cut out the neck rest and headstock area. I shaved 3/4" off of the bottom of each and re-glued it back in place.

    Jackson Kelly cases are backordered til next year for this style of case. Will a Jackson Kelly fit with a reverse headstock in this case? Particularly the Jackson Brandon Ellis signature model.

    It's not meant for it. It would be better to get the Jackson Case for Kelly or Warrior Electric Guitar
