The SKB Roto Rack Console Case is a 10U, slanted top and a 4U, front rack case that features steel threaded rails, a hard lid and doors, side access ports for cable routing, and has enough space to mount SKB's AV-8, 8-Space Audio/Video Shelf (not included) with the lid closed. The Audio & DJ console case's one-piece base is roto-molded of Linear Medium Density Polyethylene (LMDPE) while the hard front, rear doors, and lid are injection-molded of Rubber Modified Styrene (RMS). The back lid provides maximum access to your rackmounted audio equipment and DJ gear. Two TSA locking, SKB-patented trigger latches secure the lid while the flat hardtop allows for stacking in transport and in storage.

I'm using this case to mount modules for a modular synth system. Working out well so far. The ability to have the two longer main mixer side racks adjustable would be a great feature to add to this case in the future for us modular users.

  • This case protects my equipment and is light enough.

I like the case because of the hard cover and because of the fact that my Yamaha MG12XU fits on top and I still have some room to spare. I chose this case over a few others. The hardest part is buying a case without seeing it.I was disappointed that the front of the case touches my mic antennas but everything fits nice.

Even though this case is lightweight, it still has a quality feel to it. Love the fact that the rack rails are steel instead of simply holes screwed in plastic to hold the gear in like other competitors product. Also like the attention to detail such as in the case of side access holes for cabling. Like the idea of the hard case to cover the top of my gear instead of a flimsy vinyl cover. If I needed another case like this in the future I would definitely reconsider buying another. Great buy!

I wanted this rack for my DJ equipment and planned to place my XENYX 1202FX mixer, BOSS vocal processor, and external hard drive where you see the turntable in the picture. I purchased this rack online at the store with the help of a Pro-audio guy I always work with. The picture on-line is kind of deceiving. We both thought it came with the flip-up shelf and that the "8-Space Audio/Video Shelf (not included)" referred to the turntable and shelf it might rest on which is shown in the pic. The rack is basically a sturdy hollow shell, rugged side handles, and metal rails that accept standard rack mount equipment. I had the rack delivered to the store and both the Pro audio guy and myself were a little disappointed when we opened the box. I ended up purchasing the shelf (Item # 105806095 ) for an additional $50. My VocoPro wireless receiver chassis and Furman PL-8 power conditioner bolted in easily. After making my own shelf to support my mixer, etc, I'm happy with the final result, but I feel I overpaid. Pros: Lightweight, versatile, sturdy Cons: Expensive for what you get
