SKB

collapse expand iconDescription

The SKB 1SKB-SC30 guitar case fits most thin-line classical, acoustic-electric type guitars and offers the superior protection of the very same rigid foam inserts found in SKB's hardshell guitar case line, but with the style and portability of a soft gigbag and backpack.

All SKB soft guitar cases feature a rugged, weather-resistant, 600-denier ballistic nylon exterior with a hard-core EPS foam interior to provide more substantial protection than a conventional guitar gigbag.

The SKB 1SKB-SC30's exterior features two zippered pouches, one with numerous internal compartments for organized accessory storage, and an adjustable padded backpack strap for easy transport. The hard foam interiors are plush-lined and offer full-neck support to cradle the guitar neck more securely than a conventional bag. The SKB guitar case also has 3 rubber feet for standing your bagged acoustic or classical guitar on it's side without worrying about it tipping over.

Awesome case. It fits my Martin OMCPA4 (orchestra model) perfectly - the measurements are exactly as specified. The case is hard and stiff on the outside, but very light. The inside lining is very soft, just like the hardshell Martin case that came with my guitar. Nice outer compartments. If I had to be super picky, I would wish for the zipper pulls to be a bit better - they may need some pliers to tighten the connection so the pull doesn't fall off - and also for the zipper to be smoother in general. But it is really an excellent little case, and I would feel comfortable taking my Martin in the car or as a carry-on in flight.

  • Perfect for travel and an every day case.

Really loving this guitar case. There was a very small part of the case where it wasn't directly attached and some of the interior foam was showing, but not enough for me to notice to much. It's a perfect size for my Takamine P3NY Parlor and super lightweight and sturdy. Will make my travels much easier on fights.

  • Not perfect, but GREAT for the working musician.

If you do not unzip the case COMPLETELY before opening, you will rip it. With that being said, it provides as much protection as a hard case with the convenience of a gig bag. Super lightweight. For someone who travels a lot, it's sturdy enough to feel comfortable checking it in at the gate (I could keep my guitar in a tank and I'd still not feel comfortable checking it in as regular luggage) but small enough to just stick in most overheads. Yes, everything the other reviews say is accurate about design. HOWEVER, it's way better than a heavy hard case and offers so much more protection than a gig bag. I use it for my Maton EGB808CL's when I tour and play out. Worth it.

This case isn't made very well. There are several places where the foam is visible and is not covered by the denier covering. The zipper pulls are not strong enough and will pull off. I've seen stronger zipper pulls on regular luggage! This is a cheap case. The Gator soft case is a much better case for around the same price.

I expected so much more from this case. The zipper pulls are not extra heavy. I've got heavier ones on luggage. The rivets holding the black denier cover onto the foam are not placed close enough together, so you can see the white foam from inside the case. There is a large area between the bouts where the case isn't even attached to the foam - I can put my hold hand in it. This is cheaply made and I am very disappointed. It is lightweight to carry and the foam is thick and protective. However the denier exterior material does not cover all of the foam.
