Bought for metal..find myself playing clean tho
First of all let me say I think you'd be hard pressed to find a better guitar in this(400-450) price range this thing is a absolute BEAST will it boils down to it, As I mentioned I originally bought this guitar for metal as my other guitars struggle with anything to high gain and I wanted to tryout a guitar with active pickups and see what all the hype was about and know I don't think I will ever buy a guitar without active pickups again,Let me tell ya this guitar doesn't break a sweat with Screams and Growls on high gain/ distortion and on a clean channel it sounds like an angel coming down from heaven to sing you a lullaby like this guitar has some of the best sounding clean tones I've heard and NOT just in this price range like I cannot get enough of it, And that is just My thoughts on the sounds The guitars feels great to play very comfortable profile on the neck with a large 24 fret cutout on the the body a beautiful gloss finish(also a con) it is perfectly balanced and not to heavy, only really to things I am iffy about 1. While the neck profile is very comfortable it is also pretty thin I currently have Medium gauge strings on it and TBH not sure if I would trust putting on anything heavier. 2. As I mentioned I think the finish on this guitar is beautiful how ever going from two guitars with matte finishes to this all I see is every spec of dust that gets on it and it really shows up I find myself literally wiping down the guitar every like 5 minutes of playing

Decent, but there are better options
I'll preface this by saying I'm a big Schecter fan. This guitar feels pretty decent to play, but I much prefer my Omen-6. I mainly use this guitar for dropped tunings (Drop C mostly) with a set of 10-52's, and it holds it's tuning rather well. I do have some gripes with this guitar, though. I've had this guitar set up twice and something still just doesn't feel completely right with it. I can't quite place it, but something feels off. I get a lot of fret buzz, especially on the lowest string (tuned to C currently), and that's even after I lowered the string gauge from 56 to 52. In terms of the electronics, I'm really not a fan of the pickups either. My omen's stock passives sound leagues better than these. I almost exclusively play through plugins within my DAW, so the extra noise and lack of dynamics I get from these pickups is rather annoying. Overall, this is still a good guitar, but I'd suggest going with the Omen series.

I was in the market for a mid range guitar and I tried many guitars in this price range and didn't really find one I liked until I picked this Schecter up. I'm really glad I did. This guitaer is not only really good looking but it plays and sounds amazing! The inlays are super sick. Only gripe I have is it has active pick ups. I tend to sit my guitar on it's stand plugged in, and if you do that the battery will be dead. Other then having to unplug the guitar when im done, it's great for the price. I have no issues with quality what so ever. Feels like a solid guitar and the fretboard is sweet.
My only regret is not buying sooner

I've been a huge schecter fan for some time now and this is one the best guitars that I've ever owned. I've purchased about a half dozen schecters and this one is quite possibly my absolute favorite. I couldn't recommend it enough! The gain and distortion is plentiful but it also has a really great tone for other stuff that's a little more mild. Extremely comfortable to play!
Really good!

I purchased one of these demons, and the workmanship was terrible. I could not achieve a set up anywhere close to Shecter's specifications. I exchanged this demon for another demon, and it also had serious manufacturing problems. A set up could not fix them. I have trouble recommending the red Shecter demon six (Guitar Center exclusive) to anyone.
Great guitar... Mine came a little scratched up though

Overall this is thing is a beast for the price, plenty of sustain, awesome chugs, and it just feels really nice overall. very light compared to my other guitars and man those cross inlays are freakin sweet. Theres a little bit of buzz and the frets are a wee bit sharp but hey it could be way worse at this price. - This is also my first guitar with active pickups and I think they sound great so far
Great for the price point!

Very impressed by this Demon 6! Slight action adjustment and a D string intonation and it was ready to rock! Active pickups are pretty decent for a broad range of rock music. Not quite as good as EMG 81/85, but nice sounding. Definitely recommend for entry to mid level musicians.

Can I install a whammy bar on it?
It can be done but would be very difficult. It would be better to buy a guitar with a whammy bar.submitted3 years ago
