Great Looks and Great Sound
I picked this up in October as my first bass, and have been training many hours a day. I've been playing with some serious pros (the kind with metal records on the wall) and through their kindness and the internet am getting half decent. First, it's a gorgeous bass. The color is darker than the pictures, and is subtle and really pretty. It gets a lot of admiration. It's also heavy, so have a good padded strap of 3" or even more if your shoulders fit a wider strap. Invest in strap locks - just the little rubber washers are fine, but mine slipped out of a strap keyhole while picking it up before I got a locking strap. It's very well balanced and falls perfectly into place standing up, and fits well sitting. Out of the box, intonation was good but the action was fairly high although still playable. That was very easy to fix and spending a bit of time being taught how to properly set it up was invaluable. I've been through 3 sets of different new strings so far, and all sound great. I currently have a set of DR pink neons on because my wife really likes the look - which does get a lot of positive comments. I couldn't stand the sound of the DR neons E at first, but it got good after several hours of playing. The bridge is a bit different than most videos will show you, but it's incredibly easy to adjust - just have a piece of 1/4" dowel and a small hammer to knock the saddles into place - there's no screw adjustment for the intonation, just gently push the saddles into the right place and lock them down. This bass sounds great with flats and rounds and coated strings - although as I mentioned above, the coated DR neon E was nasty until it broke in after a couple of hours. There's tremendous adjustability between the 3 band active EQ and mixing the pickups. I do wish there was a passive bypass - that should have been possible since the EMG pickups themselves are passive pickups. Maybe an easy modification.

Selling this bass with that picture is catfish. Low quality paint for a high quality bass. Make the bass look like the picture and people won't refund. As soon as it came out of the box I was disappointed. I didn't even recognize it. I thought they sent me the wrong bass. I love schecter but this was heartbreaking. It's like someone took the bass in the picture and washed it with bleach till all the colors were completely faded and unrecognizable, painted the edges with flat black spray paint and threw it in the box. Seriously make the bass look like it does in the picture because that is what a bass should look like. Whatever your sending people is garbage. I was so excited to have that bass in the picture, but when it arrived I realized I was catfished. Sadly the bass in that picture doesn't exist apparently, and it obviously needs to. Also Stop sending people brand new straight out of the box basses with scratches in them. Why would someone pay full price for a NEW mint condition bass with deep SCRATCHES in them.

I purchased this bass from them as a brand new item, as advertised right now, still. I got the item, and it was beat up with massive chunks chipped out of the wood, scratches everywhere, and just generally in bad repair. I contacted CS, and they informed me that this is a discontinued item, and that the ones they were selling were used and returned. This is an item that I was sold as BRAND NEW. They had the nerve to just admit it to me and not offer any kind of solution.

As a female bass player that likes her Doom metal, I'm very happy with this bass. It's comfortable to play, plus my fingers aren't long so this fits well for me. EMG pickups.....can't go wrong with that! Sounds good!

This thing is beautiful and plays really nice out of the box. I read some negatives on the electronics and pickups, but that must have been previous years, this one sounds excellent and the 18v preamp is load and feels solid. Great deal and what's cooler than purple?

I emailed earlier about the color of this instrument but don't think the person that replied understood my question. The color hue in the stock photos are vastly different than what I have seen from a couple actual owners that posted pics online. I am trying to determine if the stock photo and the owner photos are due to the color being changed from the factory at some point, or a bad color run. I am wanting to get a an actual photo of one of the bases from someone at one of the stores. Nothing fancy, no special lighting, just a simple photo of the body in normal lighting. I have 2 stilettos already and love the the color of this stock photo, but not so much what I saw online from a couple owners, and don't want the hassle of ordering and sending it back if Schecter provided photos that don't accurately reflect the color.
