The Schecter Omen Extreme-4 electric bass guitar delivers powerful, customizable tone and premium playability. Featuring a resonant mahogany body with a dramatic flame maple top, the Omen Extreme-4 is a striking instrument with the sonic qualities to match. At its heart are two punchy Schecter Diamond Bass humbucking pickups, controlled by a versatile 2-band active EQ that provides a wide range of tones from deep lows to sharp highs. The steel-plated bridge and sealed tuners supply rock-solid intonation and tuning stability.

Shape Your Sound With a Versatile Preamp

The Omen Extreme-4's 2-band active EQ gives you precise control over your tone. Boost the lows for a thunderous rumble or cut the highs for a warmer, more vintage quality. With the blend control, you can quickly switch between the neck and bridge pickups or combine them for a complex midrange. Whether you need articulate highs for slapping, a growling low-mid punch for rock or a balanced natural tone for jazz, the Omen Extreme-4's preamp has you covered.

Resonant Construction Provides Depth and Sustain

The Omen Extreme-4's mahogany body resonates with woody depth, while the maple cap adds articulation and a bit of brightness. Together, these tonewoods produce a balanced sound with powerful lows, rich mids and singing highs that sustain for days. A maple neck and rosewood fingerboard provide a smooth playing surface, as well as more tonal depth.

Premium Components Ensure Solid Performance

From the Schecter Diamond Bass bridge to the die-cast tuners, the Omen Extreme-4 is equipped with professional-grade components. The steel bridge offers precise adjustment for perfect intonation, while the sealed tuners keep the instrument stable even under heavy playing. Adjustments are fast and frustration-free, allowing you to focus on your performance.

A Neck Profile Suited for Any Style

The Omen Extreme-4's maple neck has an accessible profile for any playing technique. Comfortable for fingering complex chords and melodies, the neck also has enough width and depth for solid thumb positioning when slapping and popping. Whether you prefer picking, plucking or slapping, the Omen Extreme-4's neck will feel familiar and inspire confident playing.

Great Bass

I needed a 4-string to go along with the 5-string that I play most of the time. The looks of this guitar actually caught my attention first. The flamed maple top and color of the finish are beautiful. Then I played it, and I found that these Diamond pickups have a much greater range of tone than any P or J configuration I had tried before. The active EQ has a bit higher output, so it's possible to drive the tube preamp in my rig without using a separate preamp. Center detents on the bass, treble, and blend pots are a nice touch, enabling you to figure out how they are set without looking (handy on stage). The Mahogany body is fairly light, and adds a nice warmth to the tone. Actually, the bridge pickup sounds a bit thin to me, but that still fits my style, as I tend to lean more on the neck pickup, and pluck up near the neck joint most of the time. Speaking of the neck joint; short of buying a guitar with neck-through construction, the robust 6-bolt neck of the Schecter is the next best thing. There are no dead spots in the neck, and sustain is nearly the equivalent of a neck-through. I'm sure that I'm going to enjoy this guitar for a long time.

Junk

I got this guitar and played it less then 10 times for about 5 to ten minutes a session. After about a year the guitar just stopped working. I contacted Guitar Center and they were unable to help and said it has been a year and the guitar was out of warranty. I also contacted Schecter directly and they said they couldn't help because it had been a little over one year. I ended up having it fixed from a outside guitar repair man and after another 6 months the guitar is having more electronic issues that are making the guitar unusable and unreliable. I am very careful with my instruments and always take good care of my gear. If this is what Schector guitars are like stay far far away from them. I couldn't imagine buying one of their high end guitars and getting this JUNK!

I have an Ibanez which the neck is super slim, and a fender jazz, and the neck is fat.. this is somewhere on the in between and just feels so good to play. My fav of the 3 and only had it for a day. Does need some neck adjusting but with the winter weather its expected. Worth the price!

Purchased at guitar center Anchorage AK. Wasn't quite ready to play, it only needed small neck adjustment. At this time neck is ruler straight with little to no fret buzz. Action was right how I prefere it and intonation was spot on. I like how the pickups sound and on board eq is nice to have albeit just bass and treble. I do wish it had the option to go from active to passive at knob but it don't. This bass is gorgeous, very appealing. Binding is perfect and neat. Frets are very good with zero fret sprout, no "cheese grater frets here" neck is narrow and fast, tuners work well. Very satisfied, thank you schecter!!😊

  • Nice bass for the price

Nice bass for the price. I needed a bass with a thin nevck and light weight. I played a few and all had fret buzz. I had to find one with the least and adjust it out. I think it is a good bass to learn on and as a backup. I wish it had an active/passive switch. Overall I would recommend.

I haven't been playing long. Bought my first bass in 2020 (Epiphone Thunderbird Goth). Started taking lessons online through BassBuzz (Josh is excellent!), after a few weeks of practicing for a minimum of 2 hours a day, I was able to start learning songs for our Praise Team at Church (we currently had no bassist). I'd take my Epiphone of course. I learned to play sitting down, now it's time to stand, my shoulder was killing me! 2nd week of playing at Church and my tone column failed! I took it to GC to get it fixed and spotted the Schecter hanging on the wall. I picked it up and couldn't believe the difference in the weight (again, I'm a novice), my salesperson explained the difference between active and passive and I knew then that I wanted an active guitar. The Epiphone took two uses of muscles for my left arm, one to hold the neck up and of course the other to go up and down the fretboard. This guitar is so balanced it will stay where you place it from the get go. GC gave me a fair trade on the Epiphone so I did the deal the next day. If you're a beginner or even an experienced player, this guitar can make a tremendous difference with ease and sound. Being a novice, were it not for this guitar I wouldn't have known what to look for without an experts help!

I always wanted a Schecter and just bought this one yesterday in store. After using many different brands and styles of 4 string bass guitars over the past 36 years and in different bands with different styles of playing I have to say I do love this bass. Like most any instrument there are going to be some fine tunings. which you could do yourself. I mean you shouldnt drive a car unless you know how to maintain and repair it when it needs it. Guitars are the same, for me anyways. I'm not gonna knock an instrument for having a sound or performance issue so small and that I could fix it in seconds. Fortunately the one I purchased came nearly perfect working order. I'm really enjoying this bass so far so I'm gonna say thanks Schecter.

If I were to purchase this Bass Guitar online, I can return it within a few days correct? Also, just as important, do you provide (for a fee) a multi year guitar tuning and adjustment located at your store to have the guitar professionally adjusted when needed? Thank you :)
