Killer bass at any price
My first exposure to this bass was playing the 4 string version at my local GC. As soon as I saw it I was intrigued by the pickup configuration. When I plugged it in I immediately fell in love with the tone and playability of the bass. I looked it up online in the store and discovered that they made a 5 string version and GC sold it at the same price as the 4. When I saw that I ordered one immediately. When I got it in the mail I fell in love immediately. The neck of this bass is super playable even with the added width from the extra string. The low B is punchy and clear thanks to the 35 inch scale length and all of the strings benefit from better sustain because of it too. Mine came well set up for just out of the box and just needs some slight tweaks to make it perfect. The tuning stayed rock solid and once the strings got broken in I haven't had to retune it once. I would recommend checking out this bass no matter what your budget is because this bass sounds and plays better than bases I've owned for three times the price.

I have really enjoyed having a passive 5 string bass. This works great with my pedal board and has a naturally punchy tone. I actually prefer a warmer tone but a few twists and I can dial my tone in. Bridge pickup is like a MM and neck is a nice clear P bass tone. Plus she purdy ;)

It was a mistake for me to purchase this bass. Now, I don't want to play anything else. All I can say is, "Wow!"
Not a p bass, not a musicman.

If you want a p bass, spend more money. If you want a musicman, spend more money. If you want the best bass you can get for around $500, buy this bass.

I've had this bass for 4 days now. Right out of the box it felt amazing, the neck is smooth and easy to move around. Very well set up out of the box too. The only problem with it is that at the first fret on the B string where fret board connects to the neck there are lot of small chips in the paint and wood. I'm sure this was a shipping issue though so I won't let it affect my star rating, but its something look out for. Another small issue is that the plastic that comes on the pickguars it very hars to get off, especially under the knobs and I gave up trying to get the knob platic off. Very good tuning stablity. String distance is great for fingers and pick playing, might be a bit difficult for slap but shouldn't take to get used to. If you are thinking about getting a 5 string, get this one!!

I've had this baby for six months and she's gone through four gigs and when run through the direct output in my amp, she completely kills the low end. The natural growl from the schecter pickups is insane especially when activating the bridge pickups. The non controls are extremely useful too. The gain booster adds so much punch to your tone, it's crazy. This bass comes decked out, no modifications needed, ready to play any time, any day.
