This is a great instrument for many reasons but one that I would like to point out is adding a variety of sounds to acoustic ensembles. It sounds great amplified and mixes nice with a band.

    Hello,

What kind of input cord would I need to use to plug this dulcimer into an amp (like a ukulele cord or regular guitar cord)? Can you use any kind of amp with it, like a guitar amp, or would it need to be something more like a ukulele amp?

Thanks!

It takes a 1/4" input and it will work with any guitar amp.

It is constructed for a right handed player. It would be difficult to play it left handed.

Please compare and contrast the tonal difference between the spruce and mahogany models. Also, does adding the electrics compromise the acoustic sound in any way?

Mahogany is more of a warmer tone than Spruce, which tends to be a bit brighter. And the electronics don't affect the acoustic sound in any audible way.
