collapse expand iconDescription

The Sennheiser e 906 Dynamic Guitar Amp Microphone is designed to reproduce the natural sound of guitar amplifiers, drums and other instruments with stunning accuracy. Sennheiser, a leader in professional audio gear, created the supercardioid e 906 specifically for instrument miking applications where high sound quality and feedback rejection are essential. With its tight pickup pattern and fast transient response, the e 906 excels at closely miking guitar amps and drums.

Custom-Tailored Sound for Guitar Amps and Percussion

The e 906's supercardioid polar pattern provides maximum isolation from other on-stage signals for feedback-free performance. Its capsule has been optimized to capture the nuances of guitar amps and drums when placed in close proximity to the source. With a choice of three voicing modes—Bright, Normal and Smooth—you can dial in the perfect tone to suit your instrument and personal style. The e 906's flat profile allows for positioning in tight spaces around drum kits and guitar rigs.

Roadworthy and Hum-Free

Despite its low profile, the e 906 is built tough for life on the road. Its metal housing protects the microphone's sensitive internal components from damage. The hum-compensating coil minimizes unwanted noise for a clean signal even in environments with high electromagnetic interference. With its high maximum SPL rating of 152 dB, the e 906 can handle extremely loud sources without distortion.

A Microphone for All Seasons

While designed primarily for guitar amps and drums, the e 906 excels on a variety of other instruments including brass, woodwinds and percussion. Its full, rich tone and dynamic range bring out the best in any instrument. The e 906's versatility and superior performance make it an ideal choice for musicians and engineers who want one microphone that can do it all.

I'm playing a Gretsch modified G5120 through a small group of pedals to a tube amp. The e 906 picks up from the amp into the church PA system. The amp doubles as my monitor.

  • This headphone amplifier is very transparent and flexible.

I bought this as an upgrade from the step-down version. This one is clearer, has more headroom, and better frequency response.

I am using this dynamic microphone on a 4x12 ENGL Standard Cabinet equipped with Celestion V12-60 speakers and the e 906 certainly does its job! Delivering clear, uncolored sound directly from the cabinet speaker. I love it!

  • Yes I would buy again and recommend to all!!

Is it really a big difference to the e609?

It's an upgraded version of the e609, it's a bit clearer sounding and less prone to background noise. Not that the e609 had excessive amounts of noise, just that they have improved it from beyond there.
