View All
A calibrated set of the most faithful PAF’s available, built exactly the way Seth Lover intended for a smooth and sweet tone.

Description
This Antiquity Humbucker Set was made to look and sound like they were made in the 1950s. Each one is completely unique and has their own character and DC resistance. The bridge pickup is slightly hotter, which is perfect for hearing the weaker string vibrations next to the bridge. Each pickup is individually signed and aged by Seymour Duncan, giving your guitar the look and sound of one that is 60 years old, and played every one of those 60 years.

I replaced the stock '57 Classic Humbuckers in my 2011 Gibson ES-335 with these pickups and, after 39 years of searching, finally found my tone. I play a 1966 Fender Super Reverb amp with Weber speakers and a Fulltone OCD pedal. Great tone for Jazz, Classic Rock and Blues. I was so impressed, I bought a set for my 2008 Gibson Les Paul Traditional. These pickups do it all from Moondance to Cat Scratch Fever.
5 stars all the way and more.

I put a pair of these into my 1960 gold top the sound was perfect. This is a true vintage sound that is right. The highs and lows are just right on the money. The middle is outstanding. They sound just like or even better that a PAF. I've been playing and around perfectional musicians to know the difference, since late 60's till president.

I put this into my 2014 Les Paul Studio. It definitely has a solid PAF tone. I compared it to some other PAF clones I have it it has its own voice, neither better or worse, just different, like any good PAF clone. I did find the Antiquities to be a little weaker than some of my other PAF clones, but that's the point as it replicates a worn pickup. I may try a fully gaussed A2 magnet at some point but I do recommend these.

I found the BurstBuckers that came in my R9 to be a bit on the harsh side, particularly the bridge pickup. These SD Antiquities are noticeably smoother sounding while still retaining excellent clarity and string definition. And they're far less expensive than so many of the "boutique" PAF clones that run $400 a set and more. Great vintage tone that doesn't break the bank.

If I order these pickups online will they really be the ones that are "aged" and signed by Seymour Duncan??
Yes. That is what they will be.
