Knaggs Chesapeake Severn: Antiquity Texas Hot

Seymour Duncan

collapse expand iconDescription

Each Texas Hot is carefully assembled and hand-wound like the traditional classics. Careful attention to details like scatter-winding ensures that the Texas Hot looks and sounds like a classic Strat should. Seymor Duncan makes them for the player wanting the closest re-creation of a vintage pickup. The magnets are calibrated and the coils are wound "top going" with "north" magnetic polarity, the same as the early vintage models. Each cover is individually aged: not just injection molded with custom colored plastics. Each pickup comes complete with screws, schematics and vintage "push back" cloth braid hookup wire.

The Antiquity Texas Hots by Seymour Duncan solve all of the typical problems that most Strat pickups are plagued by: weak output, and a thin bridge pickup that just sounds harsh or brittle. These pickups have a great bridge pickup tone for rhythm and lead playing, while still retaining the clarity and quack that good Strat pickups should have without sounding to thin. An excellent upgrade to any Strat style guitar

The pickups came well packaged and signed by Semour. They installed easily but looked like they had just been pulled from a late fifties strat. Compared to the Fender Tex-mex that these replaced the sound was more vintage. Yes they sound like they just came out of a '62 strat. Added value yes to me they took on the tone that I was looking for.

  • Very hot pickups

I put them in a Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster and it blow my mind. I realized that stock pick ups were a piece of scrap. They really improved my sound and playing. If you are looking a classic strat sound, do not hesitate to buy them. Also it has very fancy box and a letter signed by Mr. Seymour Duncan. These pick ups are very special.

    Hi Guitar Center staff
Greetings from Australia! Firstly just confirming you ship to Australia? Secondly, would the spacing on these pickups (SD Antiquity Texas Hot Strat set) match the string spacing on a MIM Fender Deluxe Strat?

We can ship this to Australia. The spacing is not the same as a MIM Strat.
