Great mic for my sax

I bought this mic for my saxophone. I play from time to time in front of audiences and sit in with bands. I wanted something other than the trusty SM-57 which I've always used; something to give me a little more freedom. This does the trick. The only caveat I found is when used with a sax, you'll want to soundcheck and tweak it to remove as much key noise as possible.

How about for a baby grand piano?
The Shure PGA98H-XLR is not ideal for miking a baby grand piano. It’s specifically designed for clip-on use with wind instruments or close-miking drums—not for use inside or above a piano. Go with a matched pair of small diaphragm condensers for natural tone and full-range capture.submitted4 months ago

Can this be used for acordeons?
Yes, the Shure PGA98H-XLR gooseneck microphone can be used for accordions, and it's actually a solid choice for that application.submitteda year ago

Will this fit physically in a fender acoustasonic? Does it need phantom power?
I’m sorry, I don’t know. I don't have one to check. It's designed for a horn ----------- "Condenser cartridge (requires phantom power)"submitted3 years ago

Hi there. I would like to know the size of the gooseneck, because I should be using this microphone on a tuba bell (not sousaphone). Thanks.
