Marcus Miller and SIRE have been on a mission for several years to build the best quality bass at an unbelievable price, making it available to everyone. The result is a line of Marcus Miller bass models that have a fantastic sound and look, and are high quality but with an extraordinarily low price.

Indonesian Mahogany Body and Canadian Hard Maple Neck
The V3 body is made with Indonesian Mahogany which is known for its warm, clear, full-bodied sound. The neck is made with Canadian Hard Maple for a premium look and feel.

Marcus Miller Heritage-3 Preamp
Top notch 3-band EQ preamp newly developed for this series to meet the needs of Marcus Miller’s versatility and to cover various styles of music.

Rolled Fretboard Edges
What only custom shops can achieve, is now on the Sire 2nd Gen. These rounded edges will give users a firmer and more natural grasp compared to other typical fretboards.

Highest Quality Hard & Clear Paint
The V3 is coated with the highest quality paint that is also used in the V7 and M7 series. This gives the V3 a more elegant look compared to other introductory basses that are applied with low-cost paints.

Marcus Standard-J Revolution Set
The Marcus Standard-J Revolution Pickup Set is constructed with magnets and coils that have already been tested for compatibility with a mahogany body since this combination was previously used in the M3 models. This gives the V3 the unique, quality sound that is hard to find in introductory basses.

Jazz bass type is the industry’s standard bass model with its signature vintage sound. This is an all-around bass that is suitable for fingering, slapping, and other techniques and styles of playing. With both a classic and modern feel and design, this new bass can produce the desired sound for all genres of music from soft to even strong metal grunge.

Case sold separately.

Outstanding value for a bass that should cost WAY more

It'll be impossible to find a better bass at this price. This is a solid, well built guitar. There is nothing that feels or sounds cheap about it. Polished frets and rolled fretboard edges make this entry-level bass seem like it's way more money than it cost. The Heritage preamp is a game-changer. It's worth on its own almost the same price of the entire guitar, so I don't really know how they're doing this. All I know is that the Sonic Blue model is gorgeous and sounds unlike anything I've heard in this price range before. I don't think I've ever been more impressed with a guitar, especially considering the value you get here for such a small amount of money. If you are considering picking up a bass in the $1000 range or below, I think you probably will not find a better instrument or value than this Sire V-3.

Manufacturing inconsistencies common in the bridge

I recently purchased a 4 string V3, the saddle on the A takes an allen wrench that is smaller than the one needed to adjust the other 3 strings. The wrench is also smaller than the smallest wrench that I have. I have been reading about several other customers who couldn't properly adjust their bridges due to screw length inconsistencies, which is a second issue to beware. Third, a screw holding the plate around my output jack is stripped.

Really surprised at the quality level at this price point. It blows away any Squire model I've tried in the past. I wanted a jazz bass, butI didn't really want to spend a lot as it would not be my go to bass.

It took three hours to remove the fret sprout. Afterward, I cleaned it up, plugged it in and was not prepared for how amazing it sounds! Very piano like, deep, rich bass. String height did not need adjustment. I have played basses that cost thousands more and this one sounds better! Black in color.

All basses vary depending on the density of the wood. Even the same model can vary up to 1.5 lbs Manufacturers usually only spec size and type of wood. Bass Guitars are generally between 8.00 and 10.00 lbs. The only way to know the weight of an individual instrument is to weigh it. This will be approximately 8.5 lbs
