Description
The Snark Super Snark SS-3 rechargeable clip-on tuner, an innovative tuner designed for guitar, bass, violin and more. With an easy-to-read full-color display and advanced tuning functions, the Super Snark SS-3 provides quick and accurate tuning for beginners and professionals alike.
Full-Color Display for Quick, Precise Tuning
The Super Snark SS-3 features a vibrant full-color display that clearly shows the note you're tuning to, as well as the note being played. An easy-to-read needle indicates whether you need to tune up or down, allowing for fast, precise tuning. The display rotates 360 degrees, so you'll always have a clear view no matter how the tuner is attached to your instrument.
Clip-on Convenience
The Super Snark SS-3 attaches directly to your instrument's headstock for hands-free convenience. The tuner's padded clamp applies firm pressure to keep it securely in place during energetic performances without marring the instrument's finish. When tuning is complete, the tuner clips off just as easily for storage in its included protective case.
Advanced Tuning Modes for All Instruments
Whether you play guitar, bass, violin or another instrument, the Super Snark SS-3 rechargeable tuner has a tuning mode to suit your needs. In addition to chromatic, guitar and bass tuning modes, the tuner offers violin, mandolin and ukulele presets. A transposition setting lets you quickly change between Eb, D, G, C and F instrument tunings. An auto-off feature helps conserve battery life when the tuner is not in use.

Great tuner
I saw someone using this tuner on a setup video. I had no idea such a thing even existed. I was using a 23 year old korg that plugged into my guitar output. After I got the Snark I felt like I left the Stone Age. No leads or mic, just clip it onto the headstock and turn it on. It recognizes every note up the fretboard and even identifies chords. A must have for setups. I would highly recommend this device for anyone with a musical instrument.

Qualifies for a "meh"
Seriously, if you get one of these immediately buy with the GC's additional replacement guarantee, because no matter what you do it'll either break or won't perform as it supposed to after a short while. It is a little erratic at times. Tune the B string, then pluck the string and it reads E... Then one more pluck the string and it says B... A few seconds later hit the string again and this time it says D for a second and then E again hit the string one more time and hoooop it goes back to showing B... On certain strings and frequencies it is better than the others. Like on D string tuning it has no problem. You try to tune the low E string from a loose position of the string and it goes B B B C C C D D then with the slightest turning of the tuner knob it jumps up to F... You think WTH just happened where did the E go... back pedaling of your tuner know slightly and hoop it goes back to D... Micro level touch the tuner brings it back to E... By that point either I really don't care anymore or I am already too bored to deal with the guitar... This is at least 50% of the time incident... The other 50% of the time it works as it should. After a very short while even when there is a brand new battery (2032) in it, somehow display goes so dim which makes it impossible to read whatever it is on the screen. Especially during daylight hours or in a brightly lit room. Other than that, it is cheap so worth to try I guess. You may got lucky and get one from the better batch hopefully!

Performs as advertised and holds better than your standard cheap battery tuner. Been using this thing pretty consistently and nothing bad to say about it really, I mean any tuner you pick will be about as good as this but the bit extra for name brand super snark is the better option easily.
I would buy this tuner again

Easy to read, and not needing to replace batteries. Great that's rechargeable.

On the first one I bought the bottom portion of the clip snapped in half after about a year. I bought another one and this time bought an extended warranty. The bottom clip snapped in half again in the exact same place and I was 6 months past my extended warranty I won't buy these anymore.

This gadget ceased to operate after a couple of months. New battery made no difference. Just sat on a guitar on a stand, never on the road. Absolute Junk.
Works pretty well!

It's easy to use. I only ding it because my guitar instructor had to return my guitar after using it.

How do I replace the battery?
To replace battery, open the battery drawer, remove the old battery and--- replace with fresh one, taking care that the positive terminal (+) is directed upwards when placed in the battery door (plus side toward back side of tuner). Then gently push the battery door closed until you feel a slight “click”.submitteda year ago

There is a warning that comes with this tuner saying there could be a risk of 'denting' the headstock finish of Gibson guitars. Is it ok to use it for short periods of time on my Gibson? Thanks
The reason for it to cause the dent is because the finish may react to the rubber pad, even if you use it for a few seconds some finishes may cause a blemish or bubling to it.submitted3 years ago

If the tuner is left on a Gibson headstock for short intervals is there still a danger of "denting"?
No, this will not dent your headstock at all.submitted3 years ago
