Ultimate Audio Interface Expander

With its versatile routing capabilities, the Alpha 8 seamlessly integrates into your setup as the perfect audio interface expander. Connect via ADAT for up to eight channels of analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog conversion or leverage S/PDIF for an additional two channels bidirectionally. You can even configure it as an 18-in/18-out USB interface, giving you simultaneous control over all analog and digital I/O from your DAW.

Optimized Signal Integrity for Every Connection

The Alpha 8 ensures optimal signal transfer by allowing you to individually set the operating level for each analog input and output to +9, +18, +20 or +24dBu. This maximizes headroom and maintains pristine signal integrity when connecting rack gear, analog mixers, 500-series modules, monitor controllers and more. On the digital side, comprehensive clocking options with Word Clock I/O, ADAT and S/PDIF guarantee jitter-free performance.

Seamless Integration With SSL 18 and Studio Outboard

While the Alpha 8 is an exceptional interface expander for any setup, it's the perfect partner for SSL's flagship SSL 18 interface. Simply connect one or two Alpha 8 units via ADAT to instantly gain eight or 16 additional channels of I/O for effortlessly integrating analog outboard, mixers and more. The flexible routing also allows creating hardware insert paths for 500-series modules, EQs, compressors and effects processors.

Unlocking New Creative Possibilities

The Alpha 8 empowers you to expand your workflow in innovative ways. Use the S/PDIF connections to incorporate external metering or amp simulators. Electronic musicians can even route control voltages from the DC-coupled outputs to modular synths and CV-enabled effects pedals. And with the included SSL Production Pack software bundle—featuring virtual instruments, plugins, samples and a DAW—you have all the tools to bring your ideas to life.
